Except that Y&I had better AI.
Anyways, now I'm not sure if MTN would be a hit after seeing its performance on iTunes. She still has promo coming up, let's wait and see how that turns out.
The Y&I video was released much earlier in the life of the song than MTN's video, so AI is hardly an excuse.
Even Y&I shot into the Top 10 from the video release and that video is a complete disaster with less views than The Edge of Glory to date.
But You & I was only really a hit in the US, and it's only just slightly behind in YouTube views for The Edge of Glory video which was a worldwide smash.
She isn't retarded, but at the same time her image has gotten so completely out of hand. I don't even know how much her music has to do with it.
She thinks it's artistic. And, honestly, it will take a major flop (as in MTN just barely going top 10, or not at all) for her to realize that she needs to re-think her way of approaching being a pop star.

Oh and it's the best video of the era.
Okay, to give you guys a perspective on just how completely god-awful these videos are performing:
Avril Lavigne's "Wish You Were Here", which had its highest WW peak in a major music market at #64 in Canada, has more views than the "worldwide smash" The Edge of Glory, despite being released 3 months later.
If the general public was watching that 14-minute epic, then maybe it would be selling. Either that or the song is really that hostile to the ears.
The song is absolutely dreadful-sounding. One of the least radio-friendly/single-ready songs on the album. And, of course, that's the type of **** she will release unfortunately.
