Like, cool link? Thanks? No one is denying that there was a huge campaign for 1989. That's obvious to anyone with half a brain. It's not some sort of inside info.
The "fictional" part of your post is that Katy did nothing similar, even though she also had a huge campaign for her album following the huge Teenage Dream era. Katy appeared on every awards show and multiple other TV shows, had a viral marketing campaign + much more leading up to Prism, released 5 singles (even though the public didn't really want three of them), etc. This idea that "Katy didn't want to oversaturate the market" and THAT's why she can't move albums like Taylor is what constitutes fan fiction.
In the end the 1989 campaign probably won her an extra few 100k opening week. But she would've easily moved near or over a million just on the strength of her fan base, as she has since Speak Now (a relatively low-key era).
