FROOT is her best album. I just can't get into Happy or Gold. I didn't like Weeds because I was listening to it when I got into a car accident, but now I love it. Her whole discography is like gems littered with some dirt, which is a nice change of pace from so many discographies that are dirt with some gems.
Savages is her best song.
Both of those songs are literally highlights though. Especially "Gold", I feel like it's the most musically / instrumentally / lyrically easy.
Queen nonchalantly talking about how she doesn't care about money.
I think she's just grown a lot (as we all do I guess, down to earth queen).
Like, she obviously wanted fame and stardom at first but I think the taste she got with EH made her realize it wasn't for her.
I do think she still loves EH the album (think she said that in a FAQin Hell?), I think it was just how the era went that kind of tarnished it for her.
You can tell she likes FROOT the best. Writing along seems to be really therapeutic for her so I don't mind if she continues down that root.
I think its obvious she loves all of her albums if shes being honest. But the hampster wheel of the commercial pop world and the chart chasing really brought her down I think. Like its one thing to look at it from the outside and think "I can do that" and then to actually do it and have to deal with the scrutiny, the admitted flipped perception people had when she decided to go top 40 thinking she stopped writing her own music and all that, etc etc. I think it made her question why she was making music in the first place. And thats how Froot came about; **** everyone, this is my album, this is how I want to release it, **** the charts, **** success. She got her first album with critical appreciation, felt validated, and peaced out.
Hello, I'm new here!
I love Marina so much because her song lyrics often describe exactly how I feel. Some of her songs fit so well to my situation it's almost scary. My favorite album by hers is The Family Jewels btw! And I saw her live three months ago, it was amazing. <3
