I don't like the way the question was phrased. I would like to see the government try to help solve the socioeconomic inequality found in black communities as a result of segregation.

But, slavery is a bit out there for me, personally. It just sounds like an odd idea. But I do think the government could do some work to help alleviate the disparity we see in black communities to try to make them on equal footing with white communities. The entire Flint water incident is a solid example of the type of inequality I'm talking about.

Yes, I don't know if what form, nor should I say anyway since I'm white, but they definitely should.

Also Australia doesn't do a whole lot but we do have types of positive discrimination that allows Indigenous Australians into things like TAFES and Universities without having to go the 'normal' highschool VCE then Uni route.
Kevin Rudd also acknowledged and apologised for what we did...like I said, not a lot but at LEAST a start.

No you're thinking of the Civil Rights Movement. Slavery ended after the 13 Amendment was made around 1865
