She didn't demand writing credits, Diane gave credit where due. You have to give every contribution to a songs creation, especially to cover your ass if one party sues for not being credited in an extreme case. RedOne said Gaga gave credits in writing for him for suggesting adding in "oh la la" to Bad Romance. Gaga still has production, medley and vocal credits on the track alongside a lyric change credit. She's contributed hugely and her credit is equally worthy. Oscars don't simply nominated those who JUST wrote all the lyrics.

A melody? Demand credits? Why the **** are y'all acting like y'all know what went down in the studio?
If Diane has no issues admitting that she, being the prominent acclaimed songwriting she is, DID get assistance that changed the whole feel of the song, making it what it is now, what is the issue?
Musical composition also refers to creating or altering the structure of a song and the Best Original Song nominees are nominated due to their contributions in COMPOSING the song.
She DESERVES the nomination.

And Lady Gaga has been more than generous with handing out credits on her OWN albums.
Various producers who've worked with her can confirm this fact.

Linda also tweeted about lines were changed, which Gaga could have done and Diane credited it for her. That's songwriting. But again, songwriting isn't the only credit an artist can get and be contributed and listed for an Oscar nom. Gaga has worthy credits in production.

Composing is the production credit. Gaga compsed and produced the track by herself on piano. They credit the songwriters AND the producers, hence "music and lyrics". Gaga has credits on both.
