Take your time choosing which model but I'm sure you'll be satisfied with whatever you decide. All you need to know is Mac don't crack and once you go Mac you don't go back.

Got one last year for university and it's the best thing I've ever used. It works like brand new still and everything looks great on it. I don't think I'll go back to a windows computer now that I have experienced using a Mac. The learning curve is a little hard at first because the OS is very different to windows but once you get used to it, you won't be looking back.

Yep. I'm using a 2008 Macbook and I replaced the RAM and got it an SSD and it's faster than some of my friends brand new Windows machines

Yes and no. In high school we had mac book airs and they were stylish, light and easy to use and obviously they are really good for editing and stuff like that but if you are going to be careless and go on questionable websites with it or if you aren't going to need it for anything other than your school work and social stuff don't waste the money. Before school started this year I had to get one for college and they recommended a levono to me and I'm just as happy with it. If your buying a macbook just for school know you are paying more for the style and brand than anything else.

My laptop was only $500 but after they added in everything it ended up being $700. I wish my mom spent the extra $300 on a mac because Apple controls my life

The same thing happened to me when I was in college. At first I hated it. I vowed to go back to a windows machine but the next time rolled around and I bought another mac. I said the same thing again and then I bought another mac. Then I just realized I'm here for the mac.

I really tried to go back to a Windows box but I just don't like it as much in particular for software engineering, photoshop, web browsing, creating documents, battery life, speed, etc... Plus if I need windows so bad I could partition my hard drive but now I won't even do that much TBQH.

My pro was £1,800 and my Mum got it for me because I'm amazing
Previously my Macbook was £800 the white one and she got me that to for the same reason
Obviously Mac is the way forward just get someone to buy it for you

I would never ask my parents to buy me such an expensivce thing

Lack of money is not the problem, cause I worked my ass off since the summer and stil haven't spent the graduation gift money... it just irks me to spend so much at once

Don't spend it just wait. However, if you need a new machine then get something that will last you for awhile.

Yes it's worth it, my first macbook purchased 10 years ago is still working, if you search for longevity you're gonna have it with the macbook, obviously after 3-4 years is gonna start to slow down a bit, it's normal, but for sure MacBook in general is the best laptop on market.

You should get it at least 100 Euro cheaper though because you are a student. Have you looked at the student prices?

LOL I don't think Macs are worth the money unless you really need the graphics processing for your work. They excel in that but in other stuff they're just MEH.

If you're skeptical in spending so much on a laptop, go for an Asus, i7 2.4ghz, 4/8gb RAM, dedicated graphics cards and 1TB of HDD for like 800€.

I don't know what's the big deal in using Windows and I don't get why you're saying they're really durable and amazing and worth the money, I've had an Acer for 6 years now and he's still perfect.

If I got a SSD for my 350€ Acer from 6 years ago it would be faster than most PCs I'm used to working on.

We don't have an official Apple Store here, only authorised resellers. They don't do special discounts for students, as far as I'm concerned
