I'm going somewhat off-topic but where I come from nearly all pop singers and actors/actresses are white or slightly tanned it doesn't make sense because there are a lot of dark-skinned people. It's the legacy of the caste system during the colonial era. In the US music industry though it doesn't really apply.

Bollywood is a Punjabi dominated industry so they are going to be light skinned because they're all basically from one region of India, but you're right. How are these random mixed girls from the UK and Brazil getgong into Bollywood? White worship!

Oh thanks! But that is something that gets overlooked when we as "stans" talk. We rather focus on the superficial stuff which is the end result, like a top10 hit or going platinum or nah, but we don't see who is standing behind the success. To have a hit song you need whole lot more. than just good music. There are people who decide if they will send your music to radio stations, who decide if you are marketable enough, etc. And yes, in most cases these people who make these decisions are white. Exeptions exist of course.

oh yes! I've watched so many telenova's in my life time (usually translated lol) and I thought most mexicans looks european. until I sat down and watched some with my mexican friend and she was MAD she kept talking about how this is not a reflection of real life mexico. (she herself is light and blonde but she saw how its wrong to reflect the minority as the majority in tv shows)

I guess but remember 10 years ago 90% of the top 10 was PoC so whatever the popular trend is affects what ethnicity makes up the charts so it's not just a race issue.

Well, that doesn't really reflect the term domination in music industry, it reflected a trend which was temporary.
Artists themselves are so little despite all the success when compared with a corperation. even big popstars. A few top ten singles or a hit album are nothing. When people who make decisions that you as an artist won't get your album out, won't be supported, they can just shelve you and let you rot and you can not leave.
