Neither is marijuana. Everything can (and will) be abused by ignorant and irresponsible people. The point is that if we allow something as dangerous as alcohol, why not marijuana, which is significantly less dangerous?
All that being said, at least we're taking the right steps toward legalization of marijuana. I'm sure in about a decade it will be the same as buying a bottle of beer/liquor at the store.

I agree. One of the most interesting things I have done was visiting a community project in Austria. It was a village, where everything was made by weed. From drinks, food, creams, clothes etc and it showcased that weed has many good aspects. People going off limits, that's a personal matter, I agree. So legalising it everywhere is normal.
And it was interesting to try everything with weed as the main base. The presenter was showing how the original Levi's jeans were produced in the beginning by use the weed material and after it was made illegal, it was replaced by cotton. And the clothes were better, because they keep you warm in winter and make you avoid sweating in summer. Medical use etc
