Now 45-41
45. TV on the Radio - Wolf Like Me
Debut: 9/21/06
Retired: --- 25 Days
Days at #1: ---
Ryan got me in to this big and I thank him. TV on the Radio is a very underrated band. "Wolf Like Me" is such an awesome song. I wish now I would have let this song retire on my countdown, but 25 days isn't that bad.
44. 30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill
Debut: 2/6/06
Retired: 5/28/06
Days at #1: ---
This is the 1st of 2 appearances from 30STM. "The Kill" ended up becoming a huge hit for the guys. It took the later half of the year for most people to catch on to this song, but I caught on earlier in the year. The video was really cool, using inspiration from The Shining.
43. Loser - Nobody Knows
Debut: ---
Retired: ---
Days at #1: ---
This is the only song in my top 50 to never make my countdown. It was a close call, but never could make the top 10. If it was now, this song would have definately made it on. The guys broke up before the album was released which really sucks. Who knows how good the album could have been?
42. Incubus - Anna Molly
Debut: 10/2/06
Retired: 12/1/06
Days at #1: ---
When I first heard this song, I felt so-so about it because it was nothing special. Today, I feel a little better about it, but it is still a so-so song. That isn;t saying its a bad song, its just nothing special. Their next single "Dig" on the other hand is something special.
41. Atreyu - Her Portrait in Black
Debut: 1/5/06
Retired: 3/2/06
Days at #1: 2
This is the 1st of 3 appearances from Atreyu. This song was featured in Underworld: Evolution. The video featured clips from the movie and had the guys performing in what looked like a boiler room. This was one of the 1st songs to debut in 06 on my countdown.
Coming up, we get into the top 40. 40-36 consists of 3 retired songs, a song that spent 16 days on my countdown, and one that is currently on my countdown.

40-31
40. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Tell Me Baby
Debut: 6/23/06
Retired: 8/27/06
Days at #1: ---
This is the 1st of 2 appearance sby the Chili Peppers. "Tell Me Baby" was a song that I liked from the start. The video I felt fir the song perfect so I had no problem with it.
39. Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down
Debut: 6/24/06
Retired: 8/12/06
Days at #1: ---
The late great Johnny Cash released one very emotional song in 06. The song was really deep with its dark lyrics. Cash will forever remain in everyone's hearts. RIP Cash.
38. Skillet - Rebirthing
Debut: 9/7/06
Retired: --- 16 Days
Days at #1: ---
Skillet really caught me bu suprise this year. I had heard some of their previous stuff, but their new album is really great. "Rebirthing" would have done better on my countdown, if not for stiff competition.
37. Kanye West feat. Lupe Fiasco - Touch the Sky
Debut: 2/10/06
Retired: 4/12/06
Days at #1: ---
We all know Kanye has a big album, but I feel his talent overshadows that ego. "Touch the Sky" is a perfect example. Plus, this song introduced us to the great Lupe Fiasco. What more could you want?
36. Nelly Furtado - Say It Right
Debut: 11/16/06
Retired: Still On Countdown
Days at #1: 8(and counting)
This is Nelly 2nd appearance on my top 50. This song is still on my countdown and will retire in January. This is one of the best songs off "Loose". Thats about all I have to say.
35. Angels and Airwaves - The Adventure
Debut: 3/30/06
Retired: 6/2/06
Days at #1: ---
We all know Tom has a huge ego, which is one of the reasons we no longer have blink 182. This song was great at first listen, but now the song seems dull. That still doesn't hurt how good this song was at first listen.
34. KoRn - Politics
Debut: 7/17/06
Retired: 9/3/06
Days at #1: 5
This is the 1st of 2 appearances from KoRn. This is one of the weakest songs from the new album, but that isn't a bad thing. I still feel "Love Song" would have been a much better 3rd single, but "Politics" is good none-the-less.
33. Killswitch Engage - My Curse
Debut: 10/5/06
Retired: 11/25/06
Days at #1: ---
Killswitch made a comeback this year with a great album. "My Curse" was great from 1st listen. The radio edit cuts out all the screaming, but that still doesn't hurt this great song.
32. UnderOath - Writing on the Walls
Debut: 6/26/06
Retired: --- 38 Days
Days at #1: ---
UnderOath really broke out this year. The new album was a great step forward for the band into the mainstream. The song was only 12 days from retirement, but still managed a good run on my countdown.
31. Lacuna Coil - Closer
Debut: 9/26/06
Retired: 11/14/06
Days at #1: 8
The new album from Lacuna Coil had a lot of great songs on it and this is one of them. "Closer" was one song that stuck out to me when I first heard the album. The video was great as well.

30. Beck - Nausea
Debut: 9/1/06
Retired: 10/21/06
Days at #1: ---
Beck released what may have been his best album to date this year. "Nausea" was a great 1st single to showcase such a great album. Hopefully some more Beck will be on next years list.
29. The All-American Rejects - Move Along
Debut: 1/21/06
Retired: 3/17/06
Days at #1: 12
The Rejects had a huge year with this song. The video very well could be the best video this year. I don;t know why I didn't do a video list, but this one would have definately been top 3.
28. Atreyu - The Theft
Debut: 8/23/06
Retired: 10/11/06
Days at #1: 5
This is Atreyu's 2nd appearance on my list. When I first heard this song, it was a huge change for Atreyu. The song barely got any play on rock radio, which sucks because the song is really great.
27. AFI - Miss Murder
Debut: 4/25/06
Retired: 6/15/06
Days at #1: 12
AFI had one hell of a year. They released their album "decemberunderground" on June 6th, which the album debuted at #1. "Miss Murder" won the VMA for Best Rock Video at the VMA's. The song really was their step into the mainstream as well.
26. Lostprophets - Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)
Debut: 5/15/06
Retired: 7/3/06
Days at #1: 10
The Prophets rleased a new album this year that was, well a so-so album. It featured a couple of good songs, but most of them felt like fillers. Anyway, "Rooftops" was one of the few great songs on the album.
Tomorrow comes 25-21, then we dive into the top 20.
