Please someone just TRY to give me a logical explanation as to how Britney is a bigger digital force when Beyoncé has sold more digitally.

Beyoncé sold 30M singles in the US with 4 albums. Britney sold 28M singles with 7 albums. I think the answer should've been obvious to everyone?

Ooh La La has likely sold more than half of Beyonce's releases the last 2 years. They are not even documented because they've done so poorly, so couldn't really research. We could only assume, and I'm pretty sure it's true.
And that list of top selling digital artists is from the end of 2011. Then they were only 1.7 million units apart. Since then Britney has seen several digital updates (thanks to X Factor) and of course "Scream & Shout" has sold 3.3 million and counting, so she's officially passed her in the US. That's without having a robust selling song like "Single Ladies", so that further shows Beyonce had her little peak and has diminished to having singles maybe certified Gold like it was 2003 or something.
Worldwide it's likewise no contest, Britney has more top selling songs worldwide than Beyonce (again she is mostly only "Single Ladies", 90% of them coming from America).
So, yeah. She's not.

But y'all usually cut out her first three albums whenever you compare them? Where's the "2003 (or whatever year Bey debuted) till 2013" breakdown? At ya'll actually including her 90's / early 00's albums in thread about DIGITAL sales though. Really? Doing the most.
The reason why most people are voting for Britney at the end of the day is because she is still going strong and is still relevant, digitally. The future is clear as crystal for both stars. Being a force is not only about what you have done in the past, but what you will continue in the future with. I'm sure y'all would agree. Or should anyway given no contradictions come in the way.

Sweetheart, check yourself at the door. Britney has only released 3 albums in the digital era. Even "Criminal" and "Break the Ice" have sold more Beyonce singles from 4. It's just how powerful she is.
How one even counts albums from 1999-2004 with digital singles, Jesus Christ.

So has Beyoncé. Dangerously In Love was not released in the digital era.

I don't even want to go forward with these numbers. Billboard, Oprah, American Idol, Target exclusives, VMAs, 80 music videos. Yeah, digital force she is!

So you're saying even with a flop era Bey still outsells Britney? Wow thanks!

I will continue posting that quote until there is evidence of any.

Check On It went number one.
ANOTHER 2013 hit? You must have one to have another. S&S was her only 2013 hit.

Oh yeah so many other soundtrack singles do 10x worse but with such a big #star like Britney Spears, wouldn't she be able to shine and make that Dr.Luke song a hit?

Overall Beyoncé... She has more longevity.
Even with her flop era with singles, Britney only managed to sell about 2 million more with multiple top 10s and Bey didn't have that.

Hold It Against Me - 1,571,002
Till The World Ends - 2,815,099
I Wanna Go - 1,673,026
Criminal - 317,030
Somebody should post Beyonce's "4" single numbers. I want to compare.

Right?
Like if they're going to try to reach back, at least do it properly. Like how "Toxic" was at 1.6 million in 2011, "Crazy in Love" 1.5 million in 2012. The force, the POWER.

Because of what a digital non-factor the "4" era was, and despite how poorly Ooh La La performed (yes it's just a soundtrack single but her name alone should have sent it in the iTunes top 10 for at least a day w/ a banner + radio deal), I'll give Britney the edge right now.

This is when you know you've failed argument.
No need to resort to being smart alecks. The 30 million 2011 numbers don't include the flops from 4, whilst the new 2013 numbers Britney has sold more digitally than Beyonce.
@DG1, longevity? The drop from how much "Single Ladies" sold to her pushing Mariah/Madonna digital numbers today is not longevity. Britney has longevity, which is why she's managed to outsell her now. Beyonce had a peak and then declined hard because her music got horrible and she got boring creatively. Britney may not have a 5x platinum single, but she has multiple singles that have sold 1.5-3 million, regardless of promotion or massive attention. Again, this is why she has sold more today.

Listen performed equal to Ooh La La despite Listen being not as mainstream. Check On It, which is what I did mention and it seems you're trying to pretend I didn't, performed 10x better than Ooh La La.

But I'm only ignoring Check On It's receipts because they're from the past.
All this time I've been on ATRL - one thing I've learned from the Hive to completely ignore past achievements.
