Dubstep is a child to the dub.
If you actually listened to dub music the wobble has always been apart of it. It also applies to the BPM of the song and the tempo. Don't mistaken dubstep for dub which a lot of people do.

HIAM was the first actual dubstep attempt. Rihanna had it with Mad House. Sorry but know your genres man.

I'm yet to see a legit explanation of this "dubstep trend" Britney apparently introduced baring in mind it pre-existed her, was already on the UK charts and there wasn't a sudden influx of popstars using dubstep?

The difference between Rated R and Freakshow is that Rated R actually used dubstep as opposed to a woobling synth over a pop beat, which isn't even dubstep at all despite what Britney stans like to think. The wooble synth =/= dubstep, just like Electric Guitar =/= Rock.

I can't really think of other popstars that started using dubstep in their music. My memory may be bad or missing something. Dubstep was kinda big last year in other scenes especially movie and videogame trailers but not in the pop music scene from what I remember anyway.anyway I'm excited to see what madeon has in store for gaga.

The breakdown was dubstep though, it had every element, it wasnt over a pop beat.
