I think you need at least some Urban/UAC airplay. Even if it's just less than 0.5 million AI, which is Rihanna's case.

i know right? Fastest Girl In Town is a country song, top 10 on Country airplay but probably won't even go top 5 on the Country Songs chart. Sad.

There's no chart for pop songs to chart. They discontinued the "pop-only" chart years ago because it made no sense since it had almost every song and was basically the Hot 100. Unless I'm missing what you're asking.

I think it's messy, but it's not unfair. They're just implementing digital sales into everything now. Artists who don't have an iTunes advantage just won't be able to overtake those who do.

I don't think it's as bad on Country. Taylor is just dominating right now with the album about to come out. Country songs are pretty popular on iTunes now.
