I don't think the question regards financial success. In case you didn't know. Beyonce has more than a decade of money-making ventures behind her. She's built a business empire. So of course, she'll be making more money. I think you forgot to put your middle-school reading comprehension skills to use though, because the question does not ask "Who will make more money?" It says "Who is the #1 black female artist in the music industry right now?" Album sales, single sales, youtube views, social media, everything besides maybe tour sales (depending on how the Loud Tour does) points to Rihanna as the biggest star right now. I'm not denying that Beyonce is a bigger star in terms of overall career, but that's not the question at hand, so I just thought I'd point that out for you.

I think about it this way. If some kind of an event had to pick one black female artist in for an event for ratings, critical success etc....Beyonce would be the #1 choice without a doubt. This is her most unsuccessful venture of her whole career and she is STILL getting relatively good critical acclaim, good sales for having no singles etc....only Beyonce could do this. If Rihanna put out 2 flop singles, her album would flounder and she would not be headlining anything. Beyonce is still THAT CHICK, and you will deal.
