If I recall, a similar situation happened with the Boston bombings, where the news circulated a photo of an alleged suspect (that turned out to be false) and the alleged suspect received death threats and I believe even had people show up at his house. I can't think of any other time where the police were circulating a picture of the wrong guy all over social media and asking people to help them find him lol. This could have turned out SO badly for that man. Imagine someone who was enraged by this shooting getting to him before the police did. They put his life in real danger.
