That's kinda the idea though. You release the best songs as the singles in order to drive album sales.

Some people think that means it's OK to put trash filler on the album though, while others only select the best for their album tracks (E•MO•TION).

WOW, Call Me Maybe has over 700M YT views. I didn't expect it to have that many considering it debuted before streaming became such a huge thing in 2013/2014.

Yeah, not for me. I'm sure my taste in music was influenced by what they listened to. My mom had a cassette tape of Erykah Badu that I used to play endlessly. But I'd argue that my taste in music was mainly based on what I heard on the radio and TV. So coming from that, I'd say I've done well for myself.
