I don't think Jane is means that the songs are bad. She simply means that Bey hasn't fully reach her full potential. We all know Bey could bring out something better than ST but I guess she felt this body of work was strong enough to release and it's a damn good album.

Jane made a good point in some aspects. I don't think that she's not promoting it for the some of the reasons Jane brought up but there was a good point about the music. The music is GREAT. It's her best work, thus far. Is it her full potential, we don't know that. I think this was a huge risk for her all across the board and the no promotion thing could have been a part statement/part seeing how people reacted solely to the music and slight change of typical Beyonce. It'll be so interesting to see where she takes things after this. I'm excited.

Well, i kinda understand Jane. You made a very good point about her full potential. I feel like B6 or B7 will shut down the doubts about which album is the best. Honestly I'm still traveling between 4 and Self Titled. The retrospective the passion the vocals and the simplicity of 4 are as impressive as the cinematic vibe the introspective the beats and the storytelling of Self Titled. She can mix the high points of these two albums and had to this up tempos (6 uptempos and I'll be good. I don't ask B'day 2 either cause I know she won't.)

Some of you must be recent Beyoncé fans. I've been a fan since 1999 and watched Beyoncé work her ass off to impress everyone and make it to the top. DIL, BDAY, and IASF eras Beyoncé worked and promoted more than anyone. During the IASF era, everyone was saying that Bey was overexposed and should take a break. During the IAWT it's obvious, and Beyoncé said herself, that she started feeling like a robot and wasn't driven or inspired anymore. The way she handled 4 and Self-Titled were necessary for her sanity and well being, but also her career. I don't think she would've lasted another ten years in the business if she worked as hard and often as she did during the 00's. Now look, it's already halfway through this decade and she has released two classic albums and is still seen as the most talented performer and best R&B artist. I would love to see her promote more, but I completely understand why she chooses not to kiss ass and give the media what they want. She doesn't have to anymore, as long as she continues to release great art.

One thing i will appreciate about the Gospel performance though is that it will remind the lessers that she is a VOCALIST at the end of the day and her talent is above all the ******** they try with her. When that happens i'm always glad because they must always know that Beyonce is above their pop girls who wouldn't survive without the studio editing. The older black legends will also give her props because they love their gospel.
