Nicki definitely sounds out of line trying to pull the race card with MTV. MTV of all people? Probably one of the least likely franchises to be looking at race in 2015.

A black R&B artist, and black Hip-Hop artist under VOTY. Beyonce performed a whole damn album. Nicki herself won Best Female Video with Starships. MTV's VMA winners and race have no bias at all.

& it's another thing to pull the race card if you released something critically acclaimed, that was straight amazing, and everyone knew deserved the award ala BEYONCE & good kid, MAD city @ the GRAMMYs. No, Nicki is not talking about Taylor directly she is talking about the System. The system that Taylor has time and time again benefited from. Just like when she won against Beyonce with Single Ladies when everyone knows good and well nothing Taylor did was visually impressive or as iconic as Single Ladies. But why did she win? The white media does praise white artists more, even if black artists have more impact. Sad, but true.

Wrecking Ball was much more global and iconic.

The video actually had impact and the wrecking ball scene was everywhere. Anaconda was just about Nicki's ass, not the video itself.
