The thread is a very valid though. Even though I LOVE Janet Jackson. She's my second favorite female musician. But her legendary status is questionable only because of how society treated her nipple in 2004.
That's all well and good, except for the simple fact that falling into disfavor with society doesn't suddenly render one's accomplishments and achievements null and void. Janet is a legend. Being loved/hated has no bearing on that.
