I'm really not sure what to think of her firing Scooter. I'll say that he did a really good job with her ME era, but his problem is that he can only focus on one artist at a time yet he has like 20. I just hope her new managers can give her the same or better opportunities.


This is one of those times where I really wish I knew the tea with Ariana behind the scenes. Between this, the cancelled promo appearances, something must have been going on with her at the time. Maybe she had an epiphany of sorts.

I like Scooter because of the connections he has and because he's shown he can turn around a career with Justin. With Tori, she might not have been successful but she got lots of promo and support. With Carly, he let her put out a critically acclaimed album to change her image.

Maybe firing Scooter (if she actually did) will be a good move but I just felt more secure knowing he was behind her; who knows how her new manager (it seems like this 'new' manager is actually her 'old' manager from 2012) works and whether she can execute.

That's why I think maybe it had more to do with the music. Maybe he was trying to push her musically in a direction she didn't want. It's clear her heart is in the YT/C&C sound rather than Focus type stuff.

The fact that she unfollowed him (she didn't have to) makes me wonder if there was some sort of internal conflict going on. It's possible he was pushing her in a direction musically that she didn't want to go.

Personally, I prefer the YT/C&C sound miles over the generic pop stuff she does. People mention sometimes how her image feels "wishy-washy" and I think it has to do with the fact that the pop stuff feels personality-less and doesn't convey who she is as an artist.

But at the same time, I really do hope she stays commercially successful. This new manager better deliver.

Her music gets overshadowed by her Pop music, I barely hear people praise her voice anymore like I heard in 2013.
She needs to start pushing that again, and broaden her demographic.
