Both of you are exagerating.
Will.i.am isn't the worst thing to happen to music.
However he isn't the greatest either.
He has a few gems here and there (BGDC, I Got A Feeling, Kelis(fleshtone), Rihanna(Phototgraphs)& a few other BEP records).
His best work comes when he co-produces with other producers/writes. Which he seems to be doing with album 8. I'm sure 8 won't be full of only his tracks. Unlike Dr.Luke who used FF for selfpromo.
Overall, i'm excited to see what Will will bring to the table with his power of executive producer. Britney always delivers musically, so its safe to say that with both Brit and Will's ear for smashes they will deliver pop perfection.

It puzzles me why people don't like or want will.i.am leading the Album 8 project with Britney.
For one, will.i.am is the best ****ing thing to ever happen to fans in terms of social media and keeping us updated. He's always tweeting about working with Britney, and keeping fans in the loop about what's going on. Whether it was with "Big Fat Bass," "Scream & Shout," or now - will.i.am is definitely making it clear that he's working with Britney and what we can expect from their work.
Additionally, will.i.am actually listens to the fans. On numerous occasions he's actually read our tweets and talked to many media outlets about us and what we say. After BFB, fans were VERY vocal about Britney not being auto-tuned to death...so when S&S came along, Britney gave her least-doctored "vocal" in a while.
Also, will.i.am is very progressive. Say what you want about him, but he has a very good idea of what's hot right now and what isn't. You can never say that Will re-cycles work (like Luke did occasionally) or that his songs are generic (production wise) like Max Martin occasionally.
People are like -- "I don't want another dance album" -- Well, will.i.am isn't just a dance producer and he produced some damn good ballads and mid-tempos.
"Big Girls Don't Cry" won a Grammy -- something Britney sorely needs more of. You know DAMN sure will.i.am isn't going to let his work be submitted to the Grammys in-correctly.
He deemed us the Britney Army -- a name Britney took on officially, so she must like what he has to say. She invited him to X-Factor...they have lunch and actually TALK. Britney is actually TALKING and has a good working and personal relationship with someone! We never heard about Britney/Luke doing lunch, etc....This just means that Will actually HEARS what Britney has to say and what she wants to TELL with this new album. How could that be a terrible thing?
At least it feels we're actually getting BRITNEY this era.
Finally, will.i.am has connections. Not to say Luke didn't have connections, but Luke used Britney to promote his own producers and artists. While Will might do the majority of songs - at least he's open to letting OUTSIDE people contribute....for example, Polon Da Don on Fergie's "The Dutchess." --- We've already seen Britney working with Darkchild and Hit-Boy, etc....
I'll be lurking over you all and if I see another "Miichael" bad candids thread a "Josh" exhaler type thread, or a "SpearsForever" thread I will have a meltdown in banland and there will be lashings when I come back

I'm here for will.i.am. I think he's really great at crafting anthemic songs. No one can deny that S&S has such a carefree, let go vibe and is so infectious and addictive. Obviously will.i.am didn't produce it, but he has his connections and he can certainly do what he did with S&S on album 8 and co-write and co-produce.
I mean, are we forgetting that I Gotta Feeling was written and produced by will.i.am and remains the highest selling song of the last decade? That shouldn't go unnoticed. Even The Beginning managed to sell well (800K in the US, 2M + WW) and he has a nice, charming personality (a big ego as well, but he seems into the music and passionate). Dr. Luke seemed way too controlling.
I do agree that his voice can be grating sometimes on a song, so I'm not so keen on him singing on the album, but I sure as hell am here for him as a producer (especially since he's great at producing crossover songs! That could do wonders for Britney).

As I've said before, I'm not 100% against will.i.am as a producer - I even pointed out songs like Rihanna's Photographs in the past - but I am 200% against him SINGING.
What makes me worry about him executive producing Album 8 is that: more collabs with him singing. We've had enough and I seriously hope he shows he's a professional and doesn't do that again - "Magic" like S&S can only happen once, after all.
Ya'll are not bringing the heat. Ya'll are serving luke warm tea. Some like it hot...

With the typical Dr Luke track, once you listen to the 1st verse+the chorus, you already know what the second part is gonna sound like cuz there is no change at all,the same tired formula over and over.
This will be a different Britney.

"When You Gon' Pull It" is so ratchet.
I love it.
The fact that Britney single handedly started the ratchet trend just so that people can sloppily copy it 5 years later (cough cough Toxic and the dance craze, Freakshow and the dubstep craze, Oops/Stronger and the autotuned overprocessed vocals phase, Slave for you and the urban pop phase with pop girls sloppily trying to serve sexy and looking skanky). Hew else?
Ugh, I told Toxicity to keep it cute. Sigh, let me send him a kik.
Seriously, I don't get how people allow themselves to get banned.
Once you get 5-7 WPs...keep it the bleep cute or just put it all the way on mute.
do you all really want the other bases to get gratification out of banning the Army members.
We’re not saying Beyonce, who wore this purple catsuit during her show in Serbia, Belgrade on Monday, is copying Britney’s purple catsuit from her “Oops!… I Did It Again” tour in 2000. Maybe Britney owned a Time Travel Speed machine and journeyed to 2013 and back to copy Beyonce

Danja does it --- I don't mind Will on the songs, I just hope it doesn't overstay his welcome.
