It puzzles me why people don't like or want will.i.am leading the Album 8 project with Britney.
For one, will.i.am is the best ****ing thing to ever happen to fans in terms of social media and keeping us updated. He's always tweeting about working with Britney, and keeping fans in the loop about what's going on. Whether it was with "Big Fat Bass," "Scream & Shout," or now - will.i.am is definitely making it clear that he's working with Britney and what we can expect from their work.
Additionally, will.i.am actually listens to the fans. On numerous occasions he's actually read our tweets and talked to many media outlets about us and what we say. After BFB, fans were VERY vocal about Britney not being auto-tuned to death...so when S&S came along, Britney gave her least-doctored "vocal" in a while.
Also, will.i.am is very progressive. Say what you want about him, but he has a very good idea of what's hot right now and what isn't. You can never say that Will re-cycles work (like Luke did occasionally) or that his songs are generic (production wise) like Max Martin occasionally.
People are like -- "I don't want another dance album" -- Well, will.i.am isn't just a dance producer and he produced some damn good ballads and mid-tempos.
"Big Girls Don't Cry" won a Grammy -- something Britney sorely needs more of. You know DAMN sure will.i.am isn't going to let his work be submitted to the Grammys in-correctly.
He deemed us the Britney Army -- a name Britney took on officially, so she must like what he has to say. She invited him to X-Factor...they have lunch and actually TALK. Britney is actually TALKING and has a good working and personal relationship with someone! We never heard about Britney/Luke doing lunch, etc....This just means that Will actually HEARS what Britney has to say and what she wants to TELL with this new album. How could that be a terrible thing?
At least it feels we're actually getting BRITNEY this era.
Finally, will.i.am has connections. Not to say Luke didn't have connections, but Luke used Britney to promote his own producers and artists. While Will might do the majority of songs - at least he's open to letting OUTSIDE people contribute....for example, Polon Da Don on Fergie's "The Dutchess." --- We've already seen Britney working with Darkchild and Hit-Boy, etc....

Agreed with everything you said
Some stans who still think working with Will is a bad idea need to read this.
I completely agree. I wasn't here at first for him producing the album but (basically due to the points you stated) i came around. I'm sure album 8 will be way better and less generic than FF.
will.i.am hasn't done a single truly good track in this current decade. He's a lost cause. He's probably one of the worst things to ever happen to music and should be forced into retirement.
BGDC did not win a Grammy, it was just nominated for one.
But will.i.am has had a part in a few songs that I genuinly love, like 3 Words, Meet Me Halfway, Brave, Photogrpahs, American Boy, Ordinary People, and of course all the Fergie songs.
He is hit or miss, and with his own work generally a Big Fat Miss. But with others, when it's bad hey, it's their fault for signing off on it, you can't hate on him that they release the **** :rip
Yes LEM!
I don't know they keep underestimating Will
his music is kind of experimental
his music is not safe, that's what i like
With the typical Dr Luke track, once you listen to the 1st verse+the chorus, you already know what the second part is gonna sound like cuz there is no change at all,the same tired formula over and over.

The mega-smasher of 2010! It's such an ultimate party anthem without being generic or basic. Usher's biggest hit since.....?
And this "lost cause" has given us some of the decade's biggest hits, whether as a producer or in the BEP.
will.i.am is so passionate about music...hopefully some of that passion can rub off on Britney.

True -- he can be hit or miss sometimes, but most times it's hit, especially when working with a major artist and team that will help fine tune some of his ideas.
And, okay, BGDC didn't win a Grammy...but at least it was nominated, when was the last time we could legitimately say that about a Britney track?
BGDC is such an amazing song, yeah I get you LEM but I really haven't loved a song from him since the e.n.d yeah he is a great producer and knows whats hot but I just don't like it.

In Will's defense, he hasn't produced as much since The Beginning, BEP's last album, because he's been focusing on #willpower. It seems Britney's album is going to be his big return to solely producing for an artist.
And my major point to stress is that will.i.am is able to produce a dance track WITHOUT autotuning the artist to death. Whether or not you liked "OMG" -- or this song:
I can APPRECIATE how they're all upbeat club songs without excessive or unnecessary autotune. If anything, it's used for effect like in CIO. Listen to those clear and natural vocals for the most part though!!
And none of these songs posted have sounded the same. They all have different feels.
