No true progressive would risk a GOP election just to make a point. A point that will be ignored, just like Nader's 2000 spoiler was. Instead it will be scorned by the party.

You want progress? Get it from the inside. Sanders has set out a strong platform for the party. Clinton, if elected, will have no choice but steer to the left.

I agree that just because something’s untested - as much of the world of alternative medicine is - doesn't mean it's safe. But by the same token, being "tested" and "reviewed" by agencies directly tied to big pharma and the chemical industry is problematic as well. There's no shortage of snake oil being sold there. I don't think the FBI are even investigating her in the first place but I don't know for sure

While I don't know whether or not Dr. Stein is an anti-vaxxer, I'm sure that's an issue we can look beyond and hope she changes her stance if she's indeed against it. It's a flexible issue that still presents a lot of room for discussion left.

The Green Party has been consistently championing progressive causes and remaining on the right side of issues, I'm sure disagreeing with common core or opposing mandatory vaccinations aren't fundamental to positions to the vast majority of people.

If you're interested in local third parties, a good one is the Socialist Alternative. The current major figure of the part is Kshama Sawant, a member of the city council of Seattle, and made a good name for herself. They've done a good job of making headway into local sectors of major communities. They have a lot in common with Bernie. They're relatively new compared to the Green Party but they've gotten a lot done in their short time thanks to their committal of small elections instead of the major.

Ben Carson is a neuro surgeon who believes the earth is 2,000 years old and fossils were out here to "test our faith". Doesn't matter what you are or studied at.

This rhetoric is disgusting.

52% of all rapists in the US are white men, should we deport them all? The answer is no, plain and simple. Stop generalizing and implying that the thousands of refugees that should be let in so they could survive wars that are going on in their countries are represented by this man.
