Had the EU not given her the rights to work here, she wouldn't be here.
That's probably why she feels that way although I agree with what you're saying.
I've read a lot of similar stories. People being told to "go home" by strangers in the street.

It puts me in a tough dilemma as someone who supports Brexit, because I'm all for an inclusive immigration policy, if someone is going to come here and be a net contributor then all power to them. But the fact Brexit is being used as an excuse for racism and xenophobia... I can't say I haven't felt uncomfortable at times advocating for a Brexit vote. This is why the left needs to reclaim it as soon as possible. We can't have a weak Labour Party lying around for months doing nothing while UKIP and Nigel Farage go around doing celebratory marches.

There's no "but." The exit votes were inspired by xenophobia and hatred. Don't minimize the pain that these poor people are suffering just to fit your agenda.

Sadly, they didn't misinterpret it.
That is the exact sentiment shared by a large proportion of leavers, whether you want to admit it or not.

Read above. I am not oblivious to the fact that Brexit has been used as an excuse to spout hatred. But that's not what it should be at it's core. This is the path the country has chosen so we need to find a way to counter the hate.

if anything, being in the eu allowed us to collaborate and have greater control.
even still, good to see you're concerned about skilled, contributing immigrants which have formed a vital part of our economy and - especially - our nhs and whose paid taxes have outweighed their claimed benefits entering our country.
when these people genuinely want to contribute, this asinine culture of immigrant-blaming (amongst lying politicians and corrupt bankers who are truly ruining our country) is a ****ing funny way of showing your hospitality.

Honestly it doesn't get talked about enough but this is what bugged me the most about the EU's immigration policy. As long as we have free movement of people, the right-wing were always going to use immigrants as a scapegoat for everything that went wrong in this country. At least now they have no excuse.
