I am DIGUSTED, that's all I can say. Sometimes you win (in this case, 6 awards) and sometimes you lose the best supporting actor award, but I'm pressed.
lol, Spotlight indeed won as the #1 in initial reviews, just like 2, 4, and 6 years ago.
But also I posted this (at least in another forum) on nomination day and it was why I never predicted Revenant to win:

I always use this stat, but in the last half-century, there are 3 directors with multiple BP wins: Coppola who twice got 4 male actors in with a win apiece, Forman who got the Big Five then got an Actor win despite internal competition, and Eastwood who twice directed himself to lead noms and who scored 4 acting wins in 2 years including the rare Actor/S Actor combo.
Revenant will get 1 acting win and pulled in a coattail, while Birdman’s actors went 0 for 3. Plus, back to back?
And Big Short seems too lacking in high praise, is a modern “comedy” (unlike the art-of-acting-centric period pieces Shakespeare in Love/Artist), and I have to think the dearth of critics’ awards mean a little something. It’s not like it’s going against an Asian-directed gay movie, so voters won’t be desperately looking for an alternative to Spotlight.
Lemme read this later tonight.
