ARKL! Im EXTREMELY Disappointed you didn't mention that Jennifer Love Hewitt is with Enrique in Hero video Touch Of MY hand is like the best song ever <333
ARE U FOR REAL? How do You do is about that? I thought it was for a guy because of the lyrics and stuff, omg I love Shakira even more now! THe other songs I knew abt xD
Yes.
I uphold Shakira into a higher light because she's an amazing artist who innovates songwriting as a personal CNN.
Sorry about Jennifer, I completely forgot about her.

I'm not a fan of Hero, actually I hate it, but I know your a stan, so I won't offend.
Breakaway, definitely one of the best albums of the decade
And I didn't know Lisa Scott Lee's Lately was at #89 I love, love, love that song! I've loved your countdown.
Lisa Scott Lee's Lately is really amazing. One of the best disco songs I've heard.
It's ok about Hero. I'd love to hear your thoughts too.

Oh man, SO GOOD TO SEE IN THE SHADOWS! I friggin' loved that song when it came out and still do. I think your analysis is pretty correct.
John Mayer, Jewel, Amy Winehouse, NIN, REM, Britney (State of Grace more than the christmas song), Coldplay (both song and album)^_^ Agreed on hopeless awakenings > optimistic lies.
I never really saw the video for Coccoon but that description really made me do it! I don't know if I really agree with the last statement but overall, definitely making it an art. It's an insane video and while knowing the song, never checked out the video before. Thanks!
Whoa, never heard of Miss Landmine but that's pretty interesting. It looks, from that picture, that they are still subject to the same ideals but at least they get a meaningful prize.
I have yet to see Pan's Labyrinth (I KNOW!) and Planet Earth but very sad/funny video you've got there. I wonder why that made your list when there are many similiar that I can't think of atm?
lmfao @ "when to listen"
Good to see Avril, Muse, Madonna, Eminem, Christina A., and Radiohead there. I wasn't very big on Confessions from what I remember so good to see American Life on here.
Shakira is pretty damn amazing and Kelly is definitely my favorite idol!
Okay. First thing's first. THIS IS THE BEST COMMENT I'VE HAD. WOW. Just Thank you.
Now down to the business...
Nice knowing that my write-up urged you to watch the video. Pagan Poetry is actually much better (the tit piercing) but I think this one has more substance, subtle if you must. Nonetheless, Bjork wont settle for anything less. I guess that's it.
The video really moved me (the Thai TV ad). I mean, what if that scene actually happens to the animal kingdom? We just don't know cause we are apart from their domain. And it's precise but it exhibits the whole idea all in all. I can't have a better video than that. (I hope) Thai insurance companies has a lot of tearjerker ads though. You should watch them.
Yeah, Shakira is amazing and Im not talking about her professional career. You know what I mean.
Thank you guys for the comments. I really appreciate them all.

#3 Ever The Same - Rob Thomas
Written for his wife who was going through some sort of an illness during that time, Ever The Same serves a vulnerable strength for compassion, hope and buoyancy. It's also nice having an assurance, for the second time, from someone who vowed to be with you "in sickness and in health". Beautiful and touching.
#2 Try - Nelly Furtado
Fundamentally, the song is a meditative realization to the irrevocable way of life. How things appealed in your perception as a child are not what they're supposed to be by the time you start to grow some puberty hairs. How you thought Robert Pattinson was a hottie but you will soon start to realize that it's actually the fangs that attract your innate flirtatiousness within you. Seriously, though, it's one of those moments when trying, (regardless of what you are pursuing), is a beautiful characteristic. Oh wait, she talked about love too. Well, we can discuss that next time.
#1 Tommorrow girls. Not really. We'll see.

#14 Hairspray & Roots (Tie)
One is a groundbreaking TV series while the other is a fun musical movie that was released when all of the apartheid was already abolished. Hairspray entreaties an affirmation of our much open-minded society as it is today than before. But that's not all of it though. The musical highlighted the prevalent discrimination for obesity, the media fallacy, racism, corruption (not with government) and probably power tripping. One of the best movies of the decade that actually solicits a (controversial) content without being too pushy.
Afghanistan's very own Idol has taken the whole nation by storm. Afghan Star, a local franchise of American Idol (but due to the region's religious prohibitions, the Idol was replaced with Star) sets new democratic horizons for its hopeful people. In this part of Middle East where women are restrained from singing, joining a reality show like Afghan Star is not a mere competition for prize, but a dignitary fight for joy, life and freedom.
Documented for film, the movie aims to transcend the double standards of the Islamic stereotypes of Afghanistan. Moreover, Oprah Winfrey featured the documentary in one of her episodes and said that one of the most compelling scenes from the movie was the elimination of a female contestant who valiantly unveiled her face and danced onstage. The brave Muslim ultimately received death threats right after.
PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO!
Quote:
"After 30 years of war and Taliban rule, Pop Idol has come to Afghanistan. Millions are watching the TV series 'Afghan Star' and voting their favorite singers by mobile phone. For many this is their encounter with democracy. This timely film follows the dramatic stories of four contestants as they risk all to become the nation's favorite singer. But will they attain the freedom they hope for in this vulnerable and traditional nation?"
To the brave Afghans
#12 Enrique Iglesias
LOL. Im such a huge stan. He's one of the hottest man on the planet and his Hispanic accent is so damn sexy. I'll probable be forever grateful for the removal of his annoying mole (or did he erase it? im not seeing it anymore thanks God!) Yeah, he's so fine. I can't wait for his sex tape to leak!
#11 The FGC
Disclaimer: Not really like a "best find" per se but one shocking revelation to me.
Female Genital Cutting or the female circumcision is the mutilation of a woman's genitalia by cutting out an external or total part of it. The mutilation was widely practiced in many African and Asian countries during 1800 onwards. It is basically perceived on traditional aspect of keeping the women pure from impurities of self-degradation such as "excessive masturbation". Though no religious scripts can corroborate to this custom, the pressure to abide in the tradition on the social level of doing the FGC made others to perpetuate the cutting. Many have stated that this was conducted to prevent the women from 'unlawful' sexual intercourse and to seal the virginity until marriage. Considered as the cleansing ritual for the female unclean parts, mutilated girls are regarded as 'beautiful' and 'clean' after the removal. Yet another cultural odd notion of 'beauty'!

#11 I'm Not Dead - Pink
This album solidified Pink's status as a "not-your-conventional-popstar" as she takes her ropes higher than her contemporaries. The vocals are rocking and the music is banging. Can you ask for more? Fave Song: Fingers & U + Ur Hand When to listen: Just make sure first that you are not dead. K?
#10 American Idiot - Green Day
Boop boop! Everybody listened when the boys dropped their haughty behaviours and the result ---- 15 millions albums sold worldwide. Fave song: American Idiot When to listen: After seeing your unfortunate, horrible and disgusting report card
#9 Loose - Nelly Furtado
Stop calling her a sell out! She has just learned to embrace femininity and taught herself of the principle of sexual channeling. She's an artist of uncalculated premises(). Fave song: Afraid When to listen: You saw your papa having an affair with his ugly secretary
Im ashamed of myself missing the last update..I really liked it...the self-immolation!
Speaking of Enrique, my classmates/friends just found the Sad Eyes video today and were drooling and biting their lips...he's low here for your standards though
I really like the best finds lark, you're such a sucker for information!! I'm glad and thankful that I've met as informative as you! Wow!
