Fireproof isn't pop and yet it's really interesting and keeps you wanting to listen. Songs like Spaces, Night Changes, and Fool's Gold are almost painful because of how boring they are.

Their lyrics are usually mediocre so that's not saying much. All of the songs start to blur together. I guess that's what happens when you use the same producers for almost every single song on an album like this

Eh, I saw MM as bridging the gap between their old sound and the sound they want to do. They even said they chose SMG as the lead single because it was a good transition song from MM to the more 'simple' songs on FOUR.


So I was expecting this album to be primarily mid-tempo from the start
