I suppose that's point. However most K-pop groups now have very raunchy dance routines. It'd take a while for the UK to accept that. I also don't think the cute concept will go down very well either. This is aimed more towards girl groups, boy groups are more accepted her than girl groups are.
I agree with you as far as girl groups are concerned. There are only a couple groups I could've imagined having any chance at cracking the UK, Kara being the main one before Nicyoung left ( ).

Girl groups that could potentially make it in the UK would probably be 2NE1, f(x), the whole Spica/Ladies' Code faction, TTS, and the late KARA. I honestly think the entirety of Europe would be a decent market for them to go after - it's more "international" in terms of music and the arts and whatever and Germany actually a.) is aware of k-pop and b.) has a fairly large music industry.
2NE1 could basically go anywhere though. Spica too.
lmao that made me remember some old SNSD article where the members were trolling Tiff and Jess by telling them that the "bug look" was in (because it was a synonym for something, I forget what) and had them running around referencing cockroaches and stuff
Speaking on English market attempts, if SM were to ever attempt to bring SNSD back to the States, they should whittle down the group to only the members that are capable of singing in English:
Tiffany
Jessica
Taeyeon
Seohyun
[one of the dancers, so Yuri, Sooyoung, or Hyoyeon]
I guess, but if they were to do this, they would have to put Taeyeon in intensive English classes. During their US promotions, she always had the "what the f**k is going on look" on her face.
Sooyoung can join this line up from the dance line because she is one of the best non-native speakers in the group.
Their VMAJ The Great Escape performances >> anything
Their best songs, choreography, looks etc.

idk why, I don't think it's a bad idea. (I think Sooyoung would be the ideal choice, good dancer, people like her looks last go around, and she has the best english of the dancers. She's also on a higher vocal level than the other dancers too, so that's a plus.)
I'd agree on Soo. She is the most well rounded in regards to any international venture; exotic without being 'too Asian', English fluency, reasonable singer, great dancer, great personality.
wait wait wait surely TVXQ has outsold GG in Japan?
Girls Generation I has sold more copies than any individual TVXQ album. GG has sold roughly 825k copies (I think?), whereas TVXQ's closest album is Best Selection 2010 which is at around 750k.
Obviously in total record sales in Japan TVXQ are in another league entirely though.
Nope. They had a Greatest Hits go 3x platinum but no million seller.

Actually, as bad as it sounds, I don't think so. Really they only have to be able to sing in english, as long as Tiffany and Jessica talk with little quips from the other three, they could pull it off. It'd be a lot less awkward than last time because it wouldn't be 1 person out of nearly 10 talking with only three people tops knowing what's going on. Taeyeon could even have a few lines in english prepared to recite if need be, her english is really solid when it's rehearsed (0:16s):
