You might have been getting confused with this low-budget mess?
It was. I realized that my memory of these two videos must have merged together, but "Me, Myself & I" is the only song of the two that sounds familiar 10+ years later. God, SoulO was dreadful... and had about as much to do with "soul" as... well, the whitest, most pre-pubescent acts in this rate.

But it's so brilliant!
There's a certain cynicism that wasn't present during the glorious late 90s pop boom. It was a time when your introductory single could be a literal introduction—a time when branding and self-promotion were of the utmost importance. There was little shame to be felt for debuting with an eponymous single and playing it off as if you were already an established act with actual name recognition. Most modern day pop acts wouldn't be brave enough to attempt it.
Revealing positions at 4 AM European time. Boo hoo. As the biggest stan of this rate, I feel offended
Cleopatra's Mess is out tho
Yeah, it can be difficult to convene everyone on weeknights, so I was thinking of having a big finale weekend instead. I could reveal one position per day this week and then do the top twenty on Saturday afternoon and top ten on Sunday afternoon. How does that sound?
Why do you dislike Cleopatra so much? I find them totally charming.
This second single from Dream's debut album feels like something of a sequel to their breakout hit: After fighting off an overzealous ex-girlfriend in "He Loves U Not," they must now convince their boys that they won't repeat her mistakes. Floating along on airy synth lines, it's a surprisingly mature track that still feels fresh; perhaps it even could have been a major hit, had it been released a decade later during the dance-pop craze. Instead, it proved a modest success, reaching the top twenty on pop radio and allowing Dream to narrowly avoid one-hit wonder status—though it did cement their bona fides with teens, becoming the first video from a girl group to ever reach #1 on TRL.
Best bit: the middle eight, in which Melissa sultrily sing-speaks over some snappy techno-arpeggios and Ashley brings it home with the big belt
The music video... tries to convince us that each member of the group has a distinct personality by putting her in a different-colored room. This was a common tactic during the era. (See: Destiny's Child.)
Bitch how is this not even a 8.0+ average rated song?! Bless your lives.
I'd dare to say this deserved better than He Loves U Not. My faves were Diana and Melissa even though I probably knew the other two were the better singers. They were just the prettier ones IMO. :-/

Melissa was my favorite, too, basically because she was blonde. But looking back, she also had the fiercest dance moves and she really liked shaking her ass for the camera, so it makes sense that I would like her, given that I stanned for Ginger Spice and Britney Spears.
“So In Love With Two” (2000) Mikaila
Hot 100: #25
Days on TRL: —
Overall score: 6.86 High score:10 (KillingYourCareer, PeopleLikeUs) Low score:1 (MWB)
There could be a ****ty undercurrent to bubblegum pop (hello, "...Baby One More Time"!) that became particularly pronounced when young women were asked to sing about situations way beyond their emotional pay grades. Enter 14-year-old Mikaila, who double-times two different guys on this fiery debut single, which has a staccato percussive beat that undeniably knocks. The Anna Karenina of the genre, it somehow became a staple on Radio Disney.
Best bit: The epic key change was an indispensable technique of the era, and "So In Love With Two" uses it magnificently to demonstrate just how distraught Mikaila is over her deceptions.
The music video... impressively employs the split screen effect, but leaves us with an unresolved cliffhanger just as our trampy little heroine is discovered by her #2.
nnn y'all not here for Mikaila getting her Traci Lords on. (Google the reference kids! It actually makes sense in reference to Mikaila's age at the time!)
Do you know how old I am? The unofficial sixth member of Eden's Crush now plays a mom of a seventeen year old on a MTV show. What the fuzz.
