The song was an add-on to the rerelease and like "Girls On Film" and "Everything You Wanted" it's clearly designed to make the album more coherent. It fits much better than many of the tracks that even with the stupidity of the chorus I'm shocked this wasn't included on the original tracklisting.

It's decent but nothing too interesting. Shouldn't have been some of these amazing WWTNS and Out Of Control tracks though.

Here We Go is one of the worst tracks on WWTNS. Glad to see it go.

Mars Attacks is one of the better non-singles of SOTU.

I Say a Prayer for You is good but it's kind of boring.

I don't remember Boogie Down Love.

Revolution in the Head is one of the worst tracks on OOC.

Thank Me Daddy is not that bad. Just lacks depth.

Big Brother is too overrated tbh.

Grease and Why Do It? are cute B-sides but nothing more than that.

We Wanna Party is just a filler.

See the Day is one of their lesser singles. Not worthy of being one to be exact.

Don't Want You Back is great but just aged bad.

Hear Me Out is one of their best ballads. It's top 25 material.

Blow Your Cover is one of their B-sides but it's just not worthy of my 10.

The melody of White Lies is great, the song as a whole is not.

Love Is Pain is good but definitely not one of the highlights of OOC.

All I Need sounds so 2002.

Dog Without a Bone is cute.

It's Magic is trash. The worst track on Chemistry for sure. And ImpressiveInstant I really do repent not giving it a 1.

Racey Lacey is the second worst track on Chemistry.

Turn to Stone is a filler. Should've been a bonus track or a random B-side.

I love Rolling Back the Rivers in Time, especially its live performance on the OOC tour.

Ya know, I hated this song for a long long LONG time but it has grown on me in leaps and bounds. Probably the weakest track on "Chemistry" and really the only one that sticks out like a sore thumb, it has its charms of being a dorky little ditty about girls wanting to get laid - which is sort of the overarching theme of the album. Unfortunately, it's the only one that doesn't quite pull off the effect.

If I recall correctly that wasn't the way it went? I think the Girls were asked to produce a song for the Herbie: Fully Loaded soundtrack so Xenomania quickly put together this one. Although it didn't make the soundtrack in the end it was indeed released as a single way before the Chemistry album was finished. Brian Higgins later commented:

chasing the soundtrack [...] disrupted us creatively. It was making us miserable. Something had to come out and that was Long Hot Summer. It was made in a panic. It was a disaster record. I can't stand it.

Pretty ballad, fabulous melody, sticking it with "Biology" makes no damn sense, but I personally love the ethereal vocals and how cold the song sounds. THIS is the kind of music Kimberley should be doing, she's be a perfect ice queen on a bitch track (said while aware it's not Kim on lead vocals,but it being mostly Nicola with a Cheryl/Sarah lead in). I would love to hear her do so though).

Yes, but I wonder how much beyond flipping "Flashdance" for this was the rush? Granted, them recording it 4 days before the cds were pressed is a bit different than releasing it while still deciding a track order lol
