To be perfectly fair, Jinzo's always been honest about disliking those singles. Jinz' scores for the rate were rather consistent considering we all knew those songs would be affected. Besides, trolling would have been giving a 10 to "White Christmas."
Hell, Ace gave Sexy! a 3 and I could argue that was strategic since he was pressed S!NNN won the Singles rate (and seriously, how did that happen people...)

Call the Shots- Boring, clumsy lyrics
Love Machine- Nightmare song, total dodgy tacky hen party stuff, worst single they've ever done
Can't Speak French- Tacky, awful lyrics ("funky music"?)
GMS- Mediocre album track, terrible lyrics (what the **** is that stuff about skin-tight jeans at the beginning?)
SWL- Mediocre album track, cheap production, badly sung

WAIT, the show won? I must have been drunk or something when doing my rates, because that was the first GA song I heard, and I instantly fell in love with it. I'm really happy with it winning!

We technically have a three way tie, but 3rd place did better on the second scores
"Biology" has enough press considering it the best pop song of the 2000s in Britain. It's the only Girls song to chart on Pitchfork's Top Songs list, which is even more amazing since we all know it wasn't released here. "Sexy!" introduced a rewrite of the Girls image and sound, marking them as more aggressive and more layered. Both are quintessential numbers from them that not only define who they are as a group, but rewrote the very notion of a pop song - Biology is three songs jammed into one while Sexy's chorus takes up a majority of the song and there's never a clear end point.
Plus, there's just enough hate to link them together.
So who's #1...The Show? Sound of the Underground? Something Kinda Ooooh? |

and of course, thanks a lot for doing this Mikal! I love GA and loved talking about these songs and everything etc etc. Some of the results were a bit crappy but that's not your fault.

I think we needed a broader range of votes, really. More people would have meant a lot more highs and lows. You're meant to vote from 0-10, aren't you?

Honestly, the biggest thing is Close To Love falls out and No Good Advice moves in. On The Metro, which is a controversial selection, stays in place, and The Show keeps the same score basically. Yes, Graffiti My Sould jumps into the Top 20 but it's still nowhere as high as people though cuz there are 2 4's weighing it down.
For all the bellyaching, the results don't change much, the top 2 just appear to be more desired. The bigger problem is (thanks somewhat to the board's lag issue) that we had only 16 ballots, so Jinzo's votes were given more weight than if we had even 20 votes.

 can't believe that The Show won this. It's one of my Faves and would make the top 10 or five, But i'm surprised  , and without Jinzo it would still be top 3!

Sound of the Underground is the perfect adrenaline rush pop song. Just great, what a chorus.
I just don't get the thing with Something Kinda Ooooh, really. It is good but that's just that! Should've been lower...
HAHAHAHAHA now that's what I call a great, unexpected winner! From what I remember The Show didn't even make Top 10 in the other rate. But well, it IS a great pop song - it's camp, it's fun, it's danceable as **** and of course it's CATCHY. I'm really glad it won!
Mikal, you were an amazing host! Thank you for showing us that a discography rate doesn't need to take 6 months
