If "Uptown Funk" can also stay in the Top 20 of the Hot 100 today too (not just airplay) that would be nine straight months there. I think this is week 35 or 36 in the Top 20 on HRS, so its airplay is a bit behind UF's overall Hot 100 longevity. That 39 weeks/nine months would be the first 3/4 in the Top 20 of the Hot 100 for the 2015 Chart Year. I think UF can remain in the Top 40 for the entire chart year.
However, I got to thinking last night and realized Billboard will likely weaken the metrics of streaming, and possibly airplay too, to start the 2016 Chart Year. If you remember, Happy and All Of Me fell from the 30s to barely in the Top 50 after streaming was weakened last December, and both fell off the Hot 100 the following week.
This likely formula change could shorten UF's Hot 100 (and maybe Top 40) stay in the end, since UF's now getting such a high percentage of it's points from streaming.
