It doesn't quite make sense to me either.
I feel like Lean On feels more "exotic" to radio programmers and listeners, so maybe programmers thought that it brought an intriguing new sound to the current pop music scene.
The callout scores for both songs were good, but not great; Lean On currently ranks 7th (out of 35 songs) by favorability, 16th by pop score and 13th by least amount of unfavorability.
YKYLI has had really good longevity on Spotify, where it's still top 20, so it's been a very strong streamer. We'll see if Lean On continues to chart highly on Spotify after it drops on radio.
