1989 is just basic pop melodies layered with lyrics disguised as "imaginative" and was simply made for radio purposes only. It could have been sung by Avril or Katy EASILY. The fact that swifties are even coming for Adele for making a record she knows the public wants from her is laughable.

To Pimp a Butterfly might be overrated (which it isn't), but it has a lot more going for it than 19K89.

It's just so disappointing after GKMC. TPAB catching all of this acclaim because of the profound message of the record but the songs themselves just aren't as good. I used For Free?, These Walls, King Kunta, Alright, and a few others for like 2 weeks before disposing of it. I still listen to most of GKCM every now and then. The power of good songs, they never fade away.

Selena's album is a grower. At one point, I thought Demi's album was even better than it.
