It's not because they're acclaimed. It's because those are legitimately great cohesive records that deserve the Grammy recognition. They're acclaimed because of that.

It's funny how you all want to complain about certain artists getting acclaim, but are ready to throw around acclaim/Metascore/Pitchfork when it's convenient.

Anyone with ears and is unbiased knows that 1989 doesn't deserve anything outside of a Pop Vocal Album win and maybe something for "Blank Space."

1989 is so bland to listen to. For someone who said that she was going pop, you'd think that she had the idea of coming up with stronger melodies and hooks, but they're all so watered down and standard.

Adelephant at least has her voice to fall back on her mediocre music. Tayload explicitly sold out and she still couldn't do it right.

I agree so much. This basic ass unoriginal album about love doesn't deserve AOTY. To Pimp A Butterfly is 100% relevant and is pure quality so it deserves it.
