The hot 100 is a mess tbh

I see you bothered by the truth, you don't have the right to talk **** when you don't know anything.
Is like wanting to play a game when you don't know the rules...

Anyway, I'm sorry if I'm kinda being rude or something, it's just that people in here talk **** like they know everything about Capitol or Katy.[/CENTER]

I'm not trying to be rude at all but I don't blame Katy for the remix and I don't think you get where I'm coming from, or maybe I just expressed myself incorrectly. I just mean that it's stupid to do a cheap remix instead of normal promotion to get it to that #1 spot, assuming that it would have gone #1 with performances only, we won't ever know that. It looks more desperate and it results in discussions like these.

ok everyone needs to stop with all these overly commercialized remixes. its getting really old really fast. and i get that it would be really awesome to be the first artist to get 6 #1's off one album, but to have to go through all of these ploys like discounting and remixes makes it less of an accomplishment in my book. she's becoming a sell out just to break a record.

I can't at people here who are so jealous of Katy. There are hardcore fans here who stan for their favorite pop artist that also does the same thing, remixes, publicity stunt, repetitive live performances and everything to make that song go to #1. The problem is, their favorites doesn't even go closer to that coveted #1. BUT THE FACT THAT KATY PERRY CAN DO IT SUCCESSFULLY AND WITH EASE BOTHERS Y'ALL. TRUTH HURTS

Look guys, I dont like the idea of remixes, but you cant act like shes the only person who does it, might i remind you of
Fantasy - Mariah Carey featuring ODB (album version was solo)
Aint it funny - J.Lo featuring Ja Rule (album version was solo)
Party - Beyonce featuring J. Cole (album version featured Andre 3000)
Sleazy - Kesha featuring Lil wayne, Andre 3000, wiz khalifa and T.I. (album version was solo)
Til the World Ends- Britney Spears featuring Nicki Minaj and Kesha (album version was solo)
Blow - Kesha featuring B.o.B (album version was solo)
S&M - Rihanna featuring Britney Spears (album version was solo)
Starstrukk - 3oh3 featuring Katy Perry (album version was solo)
And about discounts, do yall not remember Only Girl or Stereo hearts discounts? Oh yeah, you didnt, cuz it wasnt Katy, dont act like your fave hasnt used some sort of tactic to achieve #1 or a higher position
So while I agree with you that Id rather TOTGA not have a remix, dont treat Katy like shes the anti christ who is the only person who invited another artist to remix with her

Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears are all just as guilty at slashing prices and making remixes.

the difference was JLO's remixes were remixes FROM THE START of it's campaign..not just made up the last minute..lol..i defended katy the 1st time but this is getting out of hand.her label made that statement a month ago acting like they didn't care if it went to #1 or was just top 10..and now they look desperate...

When did Gaga and Brig slash prices? When did Gaga use a remix?

Ain't It Funny, the original, did not get released in the US as a single. The remix, which in essence is a COMPLETELY different song, got the release in the states. That can't be compared to Katy.

I agree, but the point is, others labels are guilty of doing the same thing.
