Thank you for reminding me about discrimination. Ummmm, fems are also discriminating. Go back a few pages and see how masculine gays are being called insecure, closeted and small-minded? Not only here but also in real life. You just cant accept when a gay guy has natural masculine traits. Am I wrong? I think not
|
Actually in a way that's right, judging by some peoples posts "normal" gays have a hard time coming out or don't want to at all because they feel like they'll be seen as a fem Queen or whatever. Which would in term insinuate insecurity in one's self.

Life is not only about who you are. Sometimes, you need to consider the people around you. I won't go all queen in front of my parents. That would feel so wrong. Your own need is one thing, and the people around you is another.

No I completely agree!! I understand that the LARGE majority of gays are not feminine and are not like me. And it is that diversity that I enjoy. Gays come in all shapes and sizes, and it is such a fun community to be a part of. I can expect and demand that others don't put down someone just for being feminine or being different from them. That is everyone's right. I don't queen out with my family either, and I keep it lower around straight people too because it isn't necessary.

Like I said in my first post: The day I find one that's not promiscuous, is not into fashion and isn't a drama queen, one that JUST has a high pitched voice and a weird walk, is the day I will accept fems. But it hasnt happened in my 25 years alive, so I wouldnt really count on it.
|
Oh well this is great news!! I am 23 and have only slept with 5 guys since I was 16: not promiscuous. I know next to nothing about fashion except what I hear from other friends: not into fashion. I am one of the most chill people I know (despite my hissy fits in this thread) and am usually the mediator in my group: not a drama queen. My voice is low. I don't walk feminine. YOU CAN ACCEPT US NOW! WE ARE SO LUCKY!

Our PROBLEM is with masc gays like you who put down the other members of the community because you think it makes you look bad. That is what shows your insecurity and small-mindedness. NOT that you are masc. Don't play the victim here...your bigotry brought this on you.

Then please enlighten me on why I'm being called fake, insecure and closeted both in this thread and in real life when i'm just acting the way I am? Expecting everyone to be fem, and putting down those who are not, is blatant discrimination.
I dont know you but Im 99% sure you have said "hes acting" or "just let loose" at least once when meeting a masc in real life. Am I wrong?

You'd have to find a full quote for me to respond...if I said something that made you think I feel that way, I apologize...I misspoke. I do NOT want everyone to be femme...that WOULD be annoying because similar to a situation where everyone was masc, it would lack diversity. It would take the fun out of it. I support you being masc 100%....my issue with you is the reverse of what you are claiming your issue with me is. I don't like that you think there is a problem with a gay being femme and that we are an issue to our community, when the issue is that we are targeted at all. But since you agree with the people who hate us, it is hard to explain this to you.

I think it's prejudice. When you have just their IMAGE, it's a little "urgh", the first thing that comes to mind is "attention *****". You feel repealed.
However, once you know one of those "queens" deeply, you'll see that there's a human being behind it like everyone else.
It IS wrong to have prejudice, but I think prejudice is inherent to the human condition - the important thing is not letting it take over you.
Oh, and attraction is different, just a matter of taste. I particularly don't feel attracted to them, I prefer masculine men, so well...

Pretty sure that most people are shocked shitless when they look at the gay community under a microscope because 10 times out of ten, they find that it defies ALL stereotypes. You have your femmes and your masculine types, your drag queens, your nerdy types, your athletic types, the kind that love the shop, the kind that hate to shop... There is no stereotype because we are all different. Anyone that calls someone closeted because they aren't acting femme is just stupid, the same as someone who criticizes a gay person for acting "too gay." There's no such thing as "too gay" or "too butch" or "too femme" because there's no standard that you're supposed to subscribe to in the gay community.

How did a thread about feminine gays turn into clocking Chris Brown.
Y'all stay going beyond the call of duty.

Right? And honestly, when I find a potential boyfriend, I want a man that likes men - not somebody who wants to keep their relationships on the down low and still publicly identifies as a straight male. Straight acting gays are cool and all, but for most of the homosexual ATRLers, they will have absolutely nothing in common. I doubt a straight acting gay guy will want to gossip about Beyoncé's new weave or who Rihanna allegedly had sex with this week.

I'm accepting And I didn't say that they're 100% accepting, either. Anyone who discriminates needs to stop. That doesn't mean that you can go and discriminate them.

I dont hate femmy gays but i am not attracted to them whatsoever and do find them irritating at times.
Its suuuuch a stereotype and it aint cute. I prefer guys who can be a bit both, camp/femmy and masculine at the same time.
