I actually agree, but at the end of the day, Billboard don't, they see DC as a separate artist. And all that matters is Billboard's stance. They're the ones who hold/determine the records and what a bunch of (mostly) gay boys and straight girls on a small pop forum think about it isn't going to change that.

It is ridiculous though. They should definitely count, especially considering she was the lead singer. Hopefully they change that in the future.

Depending on how she releases and the content/quality of her next single, Britney could easily do it. Her problem will lie more in longevity because she's never been a radio-centric artist like Xtina and Bey.

All 3 can with the right material and the right attitude. They need a radio friendly track and the motivation to actually promote it, cause Work Bitch, Your Body and Drunk In Love/ XO are the least promoted lead singles in history.

Well, Britney has 2 #1s this decade (Hold It Against Me, S&M Remix) and 5 overall top 10 hits since 2010

X had a massive #1 feature this decade (Moves like Jagger) and has had 3 overall top ten hits since 2010.

Bey has had 0 #1 hits this decade and only 2 overall top 10 hits since 2010.

Stanning aside, I have to look at the FACTS and say it's most likely Britney will get that #1. However, X is releasing new music soon so she might snatch tbh.

Based on the past years, Xtina is likely to get it with a collaboration, Britney needs to step it up if she wants another #1 single and album, Bey may get it too but her chances are like Britney's.

Applause leaked, got released on a TUESday in the middle of Roar's huge radio deal, it got overshadowed by it (it was just bound to happen) and it debuted in top 5 on Hot 100 with no promo in its first week ....

Promo is not the problem. S&S was not promoted either and it smashed ..

Video was delayed and not released as close as you think. I remember the song was in the 20s and the army was hyperventilating when it moved up to like 18 or something.


S&S was promoted on X factor and had a Beats commercial
