Now we continue with the Top 10 Non-Singles of the Year.
10. Killswitch Engage - This is Absolution
When I downloaded the 5 song sampler for the new album, this song caught my attention (besides thr single). Howard's vocals blend really well with Adam's on this track and I hope come 2007, this is a single.
09. Fort Minor - Kenji
I know this song was released in 2005, but it was one Fort Minor track I played a lot in 06. The song really stands out from the album due to the truthfulness to the song. The chorus isn't really a chorus, just interviews with Mike's dad and aunt. An extended version of the song features more interviews with is dad and aunt.
08. Muse - Assassin
This is a one of the stand-out tracks on the new album. Muse really stepped it up this year with an album that isn't like the rest. "Assassin" is a great song that everyone should listen to.
07. Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
"The Cool" is the best song off Lupe's debut album without a doubt. Rap music this year was pretty much **** this year, minus a few artist and Lupe is one of them.
06. Evanescence - Lacrymosa
This is Evanescence at their finest. Amy Lee's haunting vocals match perfectly with the haunting melody of the song.
05. KoRn - Love Song
This is the final song to be featured on an album from 2005. "Love Song" was almost the 3rd single, but was narrowly beat out by "Politics". This may be the best song KoRn has done in years.
04. Linkin Park - QWERTY
I know this isn't even on an album, but hey it counts. QWERTY or Lies, whatever the title of the song may be, it doesn't take away from the awesomeness of the song. Chester's vocals have really improved over the years and this song is proof. The studio version of "QWERTY" isn't as good as the live version, but both are great anyway.
03. Incubus - Dig
"Dig" is the newest song on the list. It has already been confirmed as the 2nd single in 2007, but in 06, the song wasn't a single just yet. It is bound to be a big hit for Incubus, as it should be. This is the best song Incubus has made since "Stellar" in my opinion.
02. Deftones - Cherry Waves
Here is another song this confirmed to be a single in 2007. "Cherry Waves" is the best song off the Deftones newest album. Chino really shows off how good of a vocalists he is with this song.
01. AFI - The Interview
"The Intervew" has to be my #1 non-single this year. Why you ask...the song is that damn good. This is the best song off decemberunderground for a good reason. The song is dark, and a good dark in that. Davey's vocals are chilling as the melody of the song hits you hard.
Tomorrow, I will officially begin my Top 50 of 2006.

Honestly, if I included more 2005 songs on my Non-Singles list, "Open Up" and "Love Song" probably would have been joint #1 and "Kenji" would have been top ten for sure.
Fantastic top ten there.

That top 5 is solid. "Love Song" really should have been the 3rd single, and "The Interview" needs to be a single next year.
The Fort Minor and Muse tracks also rock.

Linkin Park, Evanescence, Deftones, Fort Minor, Korn ^___^
I agree with you with QWERTY, the studio version is not as good as the live version but still rocks

Thrilled that you put AFI at #1 - as that is truly one of the best songs they've ever released.
Good show.

Now, its time for the main event, my Top 50 of 2006! I will post 5 a day, until we each the top 10. The, we shall see where we go from there
50. Taking Back Sunday - MakeDamnSure
Debut: 4/8/06
Retired: 5/31/06
Days at #1: 4
"MakeDamnSure" was TBS's 1st single off their new album this year. When I first heard the song I instantly loved it. Today, the song isn't as good as it once was, but is still good anyway.
49. Evanescence - Call Me When You're Sober
Debut: 8/5/06
Retired: 9/23/06
Days at #1: ---
As with TBS, this song was great when I first heard it. Now it seems the song kinda annoys me when I hear it. It is definately one of the weak tracks on the album, but that isnt a bad thing.
48. Matisyahu - King Without a Crown
Debut: 2/13/06
Retired: --- 35 Days
Days at #1: ---
Matisyahu was an artist that caught me by suprise this year. I wasn't expecting anything great about him, but boy was I wrong. This was an excellent debut single from him, even though the live version is better.
47. Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland – Promiscuous
Debut: 5/4/06
Retired: 7/8/06
Days at #1: ---
This is Nelly Furtado's 1st of 3 appearances on this countdown. This is the weakest of the 3 singles she has released so far, but that isn't a bad thing. "Promiscuous" is her biggest hit this year and I can see why. Nelly is a bright star in a dark pop scene that badly needed a savior.
46. Flyleaf – I’m So Sick
Debut: 3/21/06
Retired: 5/14/06
Days at #1: ---
This was the big breakout single for Flyleaf this year. Lacy's vocals blend well witht he rocking guitar in the song. The radio edit cuts out the screaming which is a shame. I was lucky to see them live this year at Family Values and they sounded pretty good live.
The next 5 consist of 2 retired songs, a song that never even made the countdown, and a song from a band that really caught my eye this year.

TBS, Evanescence, and Nelly Furtado - all prime tracks - all do well on my year-end as well.
