Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was always under the impression that the sale of one double album counted as 2 as far as billboard is concerned. So wouldn't sales be more like 160 -170 which is in line with debuts thus far in the past few weeks?

I don't understand this talk of Dirrty being a bomb, it didn't chart well but it was HUGE in pop culture, I mean people still talk about it, song and video. I don't think you can compare, ANOM charted better but in few years I think Dirrty will be remembered more then ANOM and such. So using it as a sales factor I don't think is accurate.

Christina has never had huge debut #s. She stays solid. Just like how ANOM has been holding on to the Top 10 for so many weeks. She'll gain more as time goes on and it will pay off in the long run. That's what happened w/ Stripped. HDD stated that Stripped was on track to sell 290-300k based on first day sales. The album went to open to 330k. & kept pulling in more sales. That's how she works. Her debut album sold 253K for a #1 and Stripped debut at 330k. This just might be Christina's highest debut yet.

Nope. They dont count B2B double...To count double you have to have 100 mins of music on both discs and Xtina has only like 80

That doesn't matter, there are plenty of artists who sell low despite having hit singles and others who sell a lot with little airplay. That shows that sometimes what the radio plays isn't exactly what the people like. Look at Nelly Furtado as an example she has a massive single and she only debuted with 219,000 and Christina who has a lesser hit is debuting with a much larger number.

well i was just talking about christina. every artist have different fanbase so the fairest way to do comparisons is to themselves. nelly might have a bigger smash hit but she was never known to have a big fanbase nor has she had successful opening week sales. like i said...

not successful single = 300k+ album
more successful single = 300k+ album

Good even though I hoped for more. But Christina sells the way Mariah sold back in the day (and again with TEOM). Rather than debuting large and then sinking down the charts, her great sales are achieved through consistency by way of continuous buzz.

This whole year has been a total upset for all of my favorite albums. Everything seems to peak at Gold or Platinum and just stops selling.

..What did you guys expect? Christina has NEVER debuted with over 400k. Her first album debuted with over 200k and Stripped & B2B with over 300k.

I was expecting 375k so whatever. And I gotta strongly disagree on that "the bigger the hti the bigger the sales", because there are many, many factors. If it was that way, then Beyoncé would've sold 500k with DIL in the first week, with such a huge hit 1st single.

400k was the numbe many expected, but for christ sakes, 340k is a pretty solid number. Not huge, but yet again, WHEN HAS AGUILERA BEEN REALLY HUGE IN THE US?

And it's too early to predict the final sales for this album. We need to see how the 2nd sinle comes out and impacts.

This is a good, certain step in her carreer. Not a flop or a dissapointment AT ALL.
