But then I saw it was just from 2000 to 2011.

I'll pretend Mariah didn't pen the song of the decade and the most successful song by a female. Ki!
Beyonce on a list of song writers...

Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne, Dianne Warren, Chantal Kreviazuk, John Shanks and Kara DioGuardi not here?
I thought they have written some hits.
I can't at Beyonce. Actually, to be honest, I don't know that she's a songwriter.

I tell you. It's just sometimes like that when you have to question people's intelligence.
The list is from 2000 to 2011 hence why Mimi isn't there. Most of her #1s come from the decade before.
Amy, Avril are not here because they don't have that much songs that topped the Hot 100. Actually none of Amy's songs ever went #1. Her highest charting song is Rehab and it was a top 10 hit. I don't know about the other girl.
So far, Gaga only has 3 #1s so she can't be there either.
I mean you will think it was so obvious considering the fact that below each songwriter's name you have the song with the most weeks on top of the Hot 100. Only Atrl.

I'm not denying Beyonce's success as an artist, but she did not write the songs that brought her to the top. It's been revealed on many occasions that she simply buys her writing credits and publishing rights. No other artist gets that media written about them, so why is it just Beyonce. And I have yet to see her write one single song alone??? She is not a song-writer, so it's a misrepresentation to put her on this list. If it was a list of the most successful artists, then yes, she can be there all she wants, but don't pretend like she could make a song like Single Ladies or Run the World without the help of producers and professionally paid writers. Even if she does contribute, it doesn't make her a song-writer.
So that is why I do not agree with her being on this list. I should have expressed that better in my first post, but I was just in shock seeing her up there. And I don't think song-writing should be based on success, as there are artists out there who write beautiful material, or write FULL albums ALL alone, and don't go #1, yet Billboard are telling me an artist who has yet to write one song fully alone is a better song-writer? Sorry I just can't buy into that delusion.

Just because their songs did not reach a higher mark on the charts means they shouldn't be on the list?? Amy has written loads of songs alone, Avril recently brought out a record she wrote 7 songs alone, and produced 2 alone, yet they aren't worth the credit of an artist who has yet to showcase her song-writing talents on just ONE song alone?? I don't care about success. Beyonce is not a song-writer.

Oh god I posted this in the first post of this thread when I posted the list.
This is from Billboard:
So, who have been the most successful songwriters over the past decade-plus? Billboard.com counts down the 20 most successful writers based on Billboard Hot 100 chart performance between Jan. 1, 2000, and May 7, 2011. From pop and rock to R&B and country, each genre is represented. Check out the following 20 authors to see who, when it comes to Hot 100 dominance, have truly had the write stuff.
Why is so hard to understand?

any factual reciepts?
or are you one of the usual mad, pressed, and lonely haters that have nothing to back up your claims?
it's actually been discussed what exactly Beyonce mainly contributes to get her writing credits.(vocal production, vocal and musical arrangements, etc.)
oh and her ASCAP songwritng awards disagree with you

Why don't you understand here?????????????????
It's the list of song-writers that topped the BB Hot 100. I can't.
Also the fact that you're a co-writer doesn't make you any less of a song-writer, Mimi, Madonna are co-writers aswell.
