I think I woke up during a dream and couldn't move and then my scream suddenly came out and my body was 'free'. What's weird is my quilt was under me rather than on me.

Yes, quite often actually. And you will learn to control it if you want to
See, this happens frequently if you're tired, extremely anxious about something before going to sleep and/or your sleep patterns are often irregular. The first stages will be the tingling sensation in your body extremities. Your brain assumes that you're "ready to shutdown" (sleep) after a few minutes. You will notice that your breading rhythm will be slower and more deep. But you're fully awake and aware. Also, muscles become extremely relaxed, and that's why most people report that they can't move.
Your brain is getting your body ready to shutdown even tho you're awake. People will experience different visual and audio stimuli.
My first experience was a terrifying old lady wearing and old white dress coming out of my bathroom in my room, looking at me, raised her finger in front of her mouth with that "shhhh" movement and walking away slowly.

Omg that scary
Thxx for this answer,I read similar things,I think one thing that helped me,is that I read about it before,so when it happened I quite knew what it was,and I tried to block the spiritual side/explanation of it.
If it happens again i would love to learn how to control it.

Just your mind playing tricks, and unfortunately people will get scared often. Not all episodes are scary tho, some are just based on different shapes and colours. Just be calm and breath, don't try to force yourself out of the situation or scream - remember your body is extremely relaxed as if you were sleeping.
You will be fine m8

It was just for about 5-10 seconds but it was the scariest **** I've ever felt. I thought that I was being possessed and freaked out, or that I was dying and that was what death felt like I couldn't move, or open my eyes but I was feeling everything and was thinking which freaked me out because it was like something was keeping me from controlling my body and only my mind was conscious.
I never want to repeat that experience again. Ever.

Omg
Yeah you legit feel like your soul and body are disconnected. There are reports of ppl being able to see their own body (I think those are lucid dreams connected with sleep paralysis)

Your welcome. Oh, and don't get scared if you experience something like being electrocuted even if for a brief moment

I used to get it all the time. I wouldn't be able to move and I would wake up maybe within 30 seconds max. Thank God it's been awhile since I've had it

I have once and it was absolutely ****ing terrifying. Although I didn't see anything, I totally felt like something was watching me and there was sounds coming from the floor beneath my bed. It sounded like an animal with really long nails circling around my bed. I also smelled something so disgusting, it was absolutely mortifying. It felt like something was pressing down on my chest too. One of my worst life experiences tbh.

Yes. I experienced it twice. In both experiences, my vision was of green shade, and I heard the overused alien music played in old movies. It was still very scary because it felt like someone was pinning me down, and I thought I was dying during the first time.

If I don't get enough rest, or go out drinking I usually get it. It doesnt bother me anymore tbh.

I get it very often actually. I'm sometimes able to force myself to bite my hand in order to wake up but that usually doesn't work.

I heard this strange sound, some chains and loud noise under my window, like smth was trying to get in,my god it was so loud, and I couldn't move at all,and all I heard was some (my screaming) screaming in my head. It lasted about a minute, and it scared **** out of me. Being awake while my body was paralyzed was so awful, and on top of anything that presence from outside got in,and I felt this bloody pressure around and on me worst few minutes of my life
I love science explanation,way more than spiritual/religious explanation :/

You probably woke up sooner than the aliens expected as they were putting you back in bed.
