2190 or 2290, I don't even remember - my chosen schools took ACT scores so I never bothered to submit and it's been over a year.

My friend got a 2400.
First try.
He studied for what? Two weeks? A week?

You will be stuck with the 2400-point based one. The redesigned one will launch in spring 2016.

Phew, it's nice that they're ditching the essay but they're also redoing the entire test and making it harder. Do they typically have testing dates in the fall? Because I don't see any on the website. I'm planning on studying my ass off the entire summer.

It depends. I heard the math is staying the same but I heard you won't have to memorize useless obscure vocab anymore....

Do some research you can trust.

And yeah they have testing in the fall.
Don't know why they don't have testing during the summer though, perfect time to study.

- my prompt was about self discipline & my thesis was "although many people say self discipline opposes inherent enjoyment, many successful people have found solace and enjoyment in self discipline"

What kind of examples did you use? I know they like examples from literature and personal anecdotes. I think I got a 7 on mine, but I didn't use any literary examples and I think that screwed me.

2250 it was a long time ago and I don't remember exactly how many questions I got wrong it wasn't many but I do know I didn't get an 800's in any section it was 750's. I think I got 2 wrong in math but I don't remember anymore, plus the test is curved so my score might be higher or lower if I took it a different month. I know people who lost 30 points for 1 math question wrong and someone who lost like 90 for missing 5.

The test is stupid.

I assume they make it fit a bell curve, which makes sense


The main problem with the SATs is (as someone as pointed out already), it's largely a test about test-taking. I happened to have a really great English teacher who gave us an exact formula to follow for the essay, and my whole class got 10-12. Not everyone is that lucky, which is very unfair.
