Uh Asylum is certainly comparable to Coven. They both have their pros and cons. Coven's story doesn't progress enough whereas Asylum's story made great progress, and that's my main problem with Coven. I think people just like to hate on Asylum because it was so different from Murder House... when in reality, Murder House is the worst season (not saying it was bad).

There's not really a point in arguing this since our opinions are obviously different. I still love Coven but last night's episode was terrible. That's all.



Well that would mean she faked an entire funeral. I suppose it's possible considering she's an actress but that seems incredibly extreme when she could dispose of Misty numerous easier ways.

Our opinions are truly just different.

Coven at it's worst is still significantly better than Asylum at it's best is all I really wanted to say.

I mean Misty does have the power to bring herself back to life, so short of cremating her like Luke, burying her alive like LaLaurie was probably the best option. Faking a funeral requires less actual efforts and is more secure than really any other means that I can think of, really. I'm just not buying that suddenly Madison can resurrect people, although Nan could suddenly control minds so who knows.

Mary Eunice's death was executed perfectly fine in my opinion. The scene was great, when the real Mary Eunice manages to break free from the Devil and begs the Monsignor to kill her, and he pushes her off the stairway. I thought it was done great.

The mutants kind of did add to the storyline, that was the entire reason why the Monsignor couldn't report the methods used in the asylum/Shelley's mutilation because he had already given Arden permission to do them, and that's why he kills himself out of guilt at the end. And the whole reason Arden kills himself is because of Pepper telling him that the aliens consider his experiments jokes and it puts him into a depression.

At least most of Asylum's plots tie into the main storyline/main character's storylines, Coven has just as much going on but it doesn't even link together.

Asylum is better. It's scarier, the characters are more likeable, there's more character development, more plot development, more suspense, it's better filmed, etc. I don't get why anyone prefers Coven other than the fact that it's more glamorous, campy and over-the-top.

Character development that ultimately meant nothing in the end for some characters - and plot development that wasn't ended properly.

The only character development that didn't mean anything was Arden's Nazi stuff, which was kinda for shock value. Regardless, it added entertainment.

Being abducted by the aliens was the endgame for 90% of the characters. Really only Lana's and Mary Eunice's storylines weren't reliant on the aliens in some way, shape, or form. It wasn't explained clearly at all - that was probably the point and this IS still American Horror Story - but to say it was useless just isn't really right.

Murder House in my opinion was too slow, Coven have too little horror on it.
