I don't mean to sound heartless (as I can be quite aloof in nature), but I now understand how suicide rates are so high in Korea if this is how they grieve/taught to handle tough times. It's not healthy
AT ALL. Far be it from me to tell another culture how to behave, but I don't get the logic behind it. Shutting down isn't productive. It's not helping anyone. It's only heightening the negativity.

Most likely. In fact, only 75 of 174 survivors were students. The majority were on the bottom of the ship. . . . Whats even more aggravating is that they apparently had 30~40 mins to flee the ship before it sunk. . . but because of the captain's orders to the students to stay put, they stayed where they were.

That's disgusting . I feel sick. What kind of captain is he. Surely when something is happening with water intake, everyone should go on deck, or at least the highest floor. Awful!
