Pink was the only female and had a big pop album. Of course they decided to end the trend with her.

Maybe, but an indie album could easily wind up in AOTY maybe even one SOTY nom. Just because it was a hit doesn't mean it was a well written song so some of these predictions are a bit... I mean, Cruise, like someone said?

I knew you were trouble is not getting a ROTY/SOTY nom, there's more obvious Grammy choices than her. With that being said, Red I'm sure will get a Pop or Country album nod. Everything Has Changed may get a collab nod, a la Breathe with Colbie Caillat.

I'm pretty sure Macklemore will be this year's fun.

Kendrick doesn't have broad enough appeal to win Album. OutKast and Lauryn Hill are the only hip hop artists who have won that category, and they had crossover hits from those respective albums.

I don't know why I get the feeling that Justin could lose AOTY. There seems to be a trend where an artist loses all three of their AOTY bids. See Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga and Eminem. Daft Punk could be a big threat I think.

What's the consensus on Roar? It seems to be peaking at the right time ala WANEGBT last year, and it definitely belongs to the What Doesn't Kill You self-empowerment mold that the Grammys seem to love so much.

WFL was submitted for just ROTY and SOTY, thus making it ineligible for the following year in ALL categories.

Daft Punk's album has been very acclaimed, but I'm not sure if they can keep the momentum going until January.

Right now, Justin seems like the best bet for AOTY, though I do think there's a chance he could lose PVA to Bruno.

"WANEGBT" got nominated in a breezier year. "Roar" has too much competition for the general field, but I do think it's a lock for Pop Solo.

You're also comparing a 7-time Grammy winner to someone who hasn't won any.

I think she will take her usual spot in Pop Solo. Record of the Year is too packed it's gonna be the year of males. And Katy and "SOTY" don't mix.
