Nah. I dont think they did. I think they were trying to prevent another We Found Love fiasco. Had WFL not been released digitally a week before the deadline it probably wouldve been a frontrunner for Record of the Year. I wondered why her label never went Pop Collabo tho. :/

Paul Grein said that it was submitted to Rap Album but the Academy moved it to Pop Album.

Also, I remember reading article that said Whitney Houston was upset because her The Preacher's Wife soundtrack was submitted to Gospel Album, but the album was moved to R&B Album; she didn't attend the show that year.

I really do feel like I remember seeing "Diamonds" on the submission list, but...

As far as "We Found Love", I think they entered it in Best Dance Recording where it was disqualified (that was the year they stopped allowing pop stars to submit).

LMFAO. They were wrong for moving Nicki. That album was still predominantly rap. She was rapping over those Pop beats was she not??

Rihanna is damn lucky though. A random showing in AOTY or Stay slaying both S/ROTY wouldn't surprise me, but I won't predict that either.

Yeah, that ****ed her up. They should have moved her to Pop collabo at least though. I think the song just caught steam way too late to even be considered when ballots were being casted tbh. Thats why I hate when you release too close to the deadline.

Idk why I see Unapologetic just being a random AOTY contender. She doesnt deserve it this year but I wouldnt be shocked . Im hoping her team submits to Best Urban Contemporary because she deserves that category this year. If Unapologetic wins that Id be content.

I agree but I never expected Loud or Teenage Dream popping up in AOTY and they still did. Like I said, I'm not predicting it but it wouldn't surprise me.

I wouldn't be shocked with "Stay", but I would be with Unapologetic - it wasn't as successful as Loud or Teenage Dream, and it looks like the Grammys ended the trend of throwing a bone to a hit-studded top 40 album each year. I expected them to nominate Overexposed last year and they didn't.
