I never said that the music wasn't good, nor did I say that her sales suffered. But in the aftermath of thee surprise release you can't tell me that people haven't viewed her in a different way. Don't act like her Grammy performance didn't shock people, don't act like the GP didn't see Beyonce in a different light. I mean come on
They didnt. Bey is sexy now, but she has always been sexy. Her Super Bowl show raised the same concerns like her Grammy performance. Her videos have always been steamy, and her costumes; raunchy. To say that her "new" sex appeal is what is giving her success this era is false, because she has always been that way.
But, Beyonce ACTUALLY does better with her albums and tours, surly that's not African-Americans that got her tour $200M and her recent album to 1 million in copies ww 5 days, something Rihanna hasn't done. Her headline huge events around the world. Or bag bigger and better endorsements. I mean.
That says nothing about the diversity of her fan base or her music. It may very well be true that a huge portion of those fans do fit into the image of a typical Beyonce fan.
I hope the Hive that recognize how dumb it is to say Beyonce just started being sexual because of Rihanna can also recognize that it's dumb to think that Rihanna copies Beyonce just because they've done some similar music.
i'm trying to figure out how Beyonce's name got in here.
You know it's impossible to have a discussion about Rihanna without Bey's name being dragged up. Even with all this success Beyonce's having, her fanbase remains as insecure and petty as ever.
A lot of Rihanna's music sounds the same to me. I wouldn't call her the most diverse- if anything, Beyoncé is more diverse than Rihanna and you can't sit there and tell me otherwise. Beyoncé has done a little bit of everything. Not all that's left is her to snatch the country genre's wig.

she already did with the Grown Woman [Country Mix]
Bey just can't catch a breathe, she's everywhere, even navy can't get enough of her! I bet she is their biggest "guilty/sinful" pleasure. But that's ok, cause bey is an icon, the most loved, respected and acclaimed popular artist.
Yes, riri is diverse, as much as her record label wants her to be. Good for her. I guess. She can't sell albums so she makes "different" music to appeal everyone. And that's ok, let's just not elevate her to something she is not.
She can't sell albums but each one is platinum? Bitch bye! 4lop shows you not every big artist can sell.
Is the hive really pressed Rihanna's music is more diverse than Beyoncé? Why... It's not a good or bad thing some people like to experiment with new sound & some people like to stick to what they're good at. Rihanna dabbles into different genres & Bey mostly stays with R&B or Pop, it's not a bad thing.

Because Beyonce's music sounds ALL different right

Girl what? I was just addressing the Hive in here that tried to claim that her music this era isn't different than what she's done in the past. A few music videos does not equal the image that she displays to the GP. Y'all can make all the jokes you want but my point still stands. She has never been this consistently and overtly sexual but hey, drag I guess
Beyonce's public image is literally the same as it has always been.
Beyonce didn't just start getting called out for being overtly like you are trying so hard to pretend.

are you serious?
because Beyonce's music mostly sounds the same to me.

You have no point.
A music video =/= her public image
She isn't out in public with her **** exposed. Nobody views her differently. Some people didn't like her performance. You can't please everybody.
And if you were such a fan you'd realize she said she feels very liberated with this album and wanted to show off her body and show that women can still be sexy after motherhood, so yes of course she's a little more sexual now. So again what was the point of your long offtopic essay?

How can you say Rihanna's music sounds the same?? How does Pon De Replay sound like Diamonds? How does If it's Lovin' that You Want sound like We Found Love? How does Red Lipstick sound like Do Ya Thang? How does California King Bed sound like Take a Bow?? How does Where Have You Been sound like Stay? How does Pour it UP compare to Don't Stop the Music, or Russian Roulette with SOS???? Y'all keep saying her music sounds the same without proving how it does and yet there are examples after examples of Rihanna's music sounding different from era to era.
