I like ATM Jam quite a bit! I just think that most Kunts are annoyed that A) it was forced on her as a single because of Pharrell's involvement (when she herself said it was meant to be between Miss Amor and Miss Camaraderie—her choices for lead single and B-side—on the album, and that there were "much more interesting chapters" that could have been released to tease her "Kindle book"), and B) it was stripped of all its damn samples! Plus Interscope being unable to force Pharrell to promote it whatsoever, plus the mess with the music video being scrapped and then remade and not debuting for months until she or someone leaked it, plus it not being on iTunes till after it had lost all buzz, etc. A mess all around.

But I do like it! The demo version with the samples is wonderful, as is the Kaytranda Edition. I think it helps to conceive of it how she described it in her Complex interview: "baby's first rap." Like, a young girl is just learning how to put all these sounds together to do cool and playful things, and that's why so much of it is nonsensical. (Azealia clearly has a big interest in nonsense and the absurd, just based off Yung Rapunxel's lyrics and her teasing that Miss Amor [I think?] was reminiscent of Lewis Carroll.)

It's absolutely outrageous/laughable, given that Azealia's verse absolutely SH*TS on Missy's and Rye Rye's (again, both of whom I love). It's one of my top 5 Zee Zee verses for sure. I just hope that it wasn't M.I.A. herself who initiated that move, though I suppose she probably at least approved it… Oh well. *sigh* On the one hand, it shows how Azealia has damaged her career; on the other, it's not like the Bad Girls remixes did anything commercially.

When you have the collection of Junglepussy, Le1f, Mykki Blanco, and Angel Haze—all good rappers struggling to break into the mainstream—it's hardly surprising they'd be pressed about Azealia's success and/or try to use a beef with her to advance their careers. (As Angel most blatantly did.) However, it's also possible that, during their friendship with Pretty AB, Azealia really just was a bad person or a mess or rude or who-knows-what.

We're never going to know about all the behind-the-scenes drama… and thankfully that doesn't matter to me in the slightest, as I'll just continue to listen to the rappers I think are the best. That's Azealia IMO. (Although I've been listening heavily to Mykki for over a year now.)

I mean, they can be just as messy in their own right: Mykki declared support for “#TeamTerry” (Richardson) in June and then said first-world sexual assaults didn't matter because problems exist in Africa…

In fact, Pharrell almost never promotes his featurings. Get Lucky & Blurred Lines were an exceptions. But look @ Get Like Me, Liar Liar, Feds Watching and, of course, ATM Jam. They all were without promo. I don't blame him, he is very busy with all his projects.

rye rye is signed to MIA label so of course MIA was going to give her the promo knowing how big that song was w.o the remix. Missy probably requested to be on the song because it was so hot and who in there right mind would turn down a legend even if the lyrics are sub par that "just like ham sandwiches" line is cringeworthy

he promoted IFHY smh and that was probably the worst song on WOLF imo. Actually imo for the most part pharrells production isn't that great sans a few hits .
