it's like she's a punching bag.
i wonder how you guys deal with it. you just brush it off or do you defend her? same for inaccurate comments Pop makes here about madonna all the time. I always feel the need to defend her. I know he partly wants me to, because then he can warn me, but I hate the thought of people believing his nonsense, so I give into the bait.

I honestly think your thinking is distorted by how you let M' criticism get to your head. I see equivalent ageist/mocking treatment to any other woman about her age. Mariah for example never get it easy, be it because of her childish behavior, her body, etc. The thing is, Madonna is seen as an tough person with horrible personality, and people love to try to 'destroy' someone like that. She won't be sorry or regretful about anything and her fans should not waste much time defending her ways because with Madonna ha career is always like "todays newspaper wraps tomorrows fish''. She simply keep on going and you need to move on and let teh haters be haters.

Talking about the Rebel Heart singlets:
1.GT is a PERFECT ballad and definitely one of the best songs of 2015, but since Madonna is a victim of prejudice for various reasons people don't catch the tea on that.
2.It's surprising how BIM went viral on Youtube, it even feels like it was a big hit because of all the videos and parodies related to it.
What an indie legend.
P.S: Is that supposed new album the last under Interscope? Does the label want to recover the all the money lost on RH? Does this mean we'll get a carefully planned album full of bops? Here for iT.

It was the literally what the era was about though, opening up, as well as being her usual tough self. I don't begrudge her for it, it's very honest and a beautiful ballad.
I mean at the end of the day there's no one in existence who is invincible to criticism. Like Loose can sing "Shake It Off" all she likes but we know damn well she gets more riled up about things than anyone.

I know, I just often fear that what a hater says can have some impact, like in the RN vs LAP thread. its never about that one guy who says something that's totally untrue, it's about the 10, and later 100 and 1000 others who agree with it and spread it for gospel truth. (see the prince tribute where some guy on twitter made up that prince didn't like her and everyone blindly repeated it without proof.. but people really do think that now)

I never knew this was such a thing On my first forum (a Madonna forum), being a Mariah fan was a challenge Then on my second forum (a general pop forum), the Mariah fans were super snobby about my Madonna fandom And now here we are, and I didn't even KNOW Janet was a point of contention.

yeah it used to be just a joke to troll and make fun of other popstars. i remember the first time i read something nasty about madonna by a fan of james bond movies, lol. but with social media and fans these days, i don't know.. people have become really obsessive about the popstars they hate.

they attack her because they are afraid of her.I'm sure the haters are jealous of what she has achieved.I guess Madge is that hated beacause she had lots of controversial moments+her music is revolutionary and some people try to discredit her.Cher didnt do much except the Believe album.
an example about the impact: i've heard Vogue million times on TV (non-music channels) and i've rarely heard any Mariah,Gaga,Katy etc. song
