Speak Now singles flopped, the album still went on to sell 4.5mil copies
Red had to hit singles, the album is just about to pass 4mil copies
Teenage Dream had FIVE #1 SINGLES. It's certified 2x platinum.
Prism is working on its 3rd hit single, it isn't even 2x platinum yet.
People are interested in buying GOOD music, not POPULAR music, as evidenced here in this post.

But at the end of the day, She will lose Her fame...... And by that time, the ones who will care about Her will be critics (other than fans ofc_, and their article will continuously shape public's opinion.
And as if the backlash from 2013 didn't teach you anything.... the keys are to endure and stick to your guns.
But if you want some talks: why don't you just go to forums where critics hang out?
My college mates who are festival crowd ppl, don't mind Her. Some even out & proud about their love for Her.
Why bother with people who don't do their research and just go with popular opinions? Don't you know it's exactly the kind of ppl you should ignore?

UGH, Working with Max Martin doesn't mean she's turning into a watered-down version of Katy Perry, or that she's selling out. Believe it or not, but when Taylor worked with MM on Red after Scott's suggestion, she actually liked 22, WANEGBT and Trouble and did not see them as inferior to her other songs. This is what she wanted. She didn't put every track they made together on the album (they made 4 tracks, 1 didn't make it). She picked what she thought were the best ones. She could've added that 4th one and released it as a single for more pop success, but she did not, and nothing was stopping her.
This is the musical/artistic direction that Taylor wants to go and is not forced to go. She was successful before it and is still successful after it. Taylor wants to work with Max Martin. I know you don't like that your fave artist is working with a producer you don't like, but I think we'll just have to wait and see and stop making assumptions imo.

Yes sis. Quality music>>> Commercial success. Catalog sales years from now>>>> being biggest star just to become irrelevant in a few years. Look at most big time pop stars and this is what is the norm for them.

I agree with you in principle, i mean, of course not everyone has to like her or some other artist, that's fine. And Taylor, i think, didn't care about it so much until Red era. But there's a a limit here. The hate for Taylor Swift really passed that limit. I'm giving Justin Bieber example, becuase she's getting the same hate with him but unlike him, she's done nothing wrong to get that hate. I mean, just mathematically, let's assume at most half of the pıopulation may not like you, that's fine, but if most of the society doesn't like you, than there's a problem here.

You really have good friends which have good music taste, then. I wouldn't say its the same for the rest of the world unfortunately. You can just check out the twitter during the award shows to see what GP think about her. And i'm guessing you know last year she was in the list of most hated 20 celebs in the US ?

I'd be fine with MM if he gave his best effort to Taylor, but look at his productions for Kill3r Kw33n Kath3ryn on Amazism and compare to the productions on Local Bumpkin's DER.. It's sad..

The 4th track was never finished. I remember this because it's about having a crush on someone and I was pissed because the anthem could've have been USED AND ABUSED in my life at the time.
Unforgivable.

How does listing her for the most hated celebs list from last year make a case that working with Max Martin is good? Though I'm sure most of that is from One Direction fans getting in their votes as to why she made the list.

Her "negative media attention" is superficial & not really damaging, it's more petty. Kind of sexist too. She's called a **** for dating around with men, when that is completely acceptable. It's always bothered me that a young girl in her early 20s is ridiculed by the media for something so completely normal and non-scandalous.

Preach. Its really annoying. And this whole she only writes about relationships and bashes guys angle that media pushes is equally as dumb.
The thing i fear the most is that One Direction and Taylor fanbases overlapped quite a bit. Of course most of the girls chose to support their crush and ditched Taylor in that particular war. This could cause a loss of sales.
I am not worried about her country fanbase tho...the people who support her there give no ****s about genres....for them her genre is taylor swift.
I just prefer to have lower expectations and hopefully be positively surprised when she indeed manages to do numbers close to million a week. What did Gaga do to push people away that much? I was damn sure she would still do over 400k but we all know what happened...

Prism sucked imo, there was nothing special production wise or lyrically either. There were a couple good songs on it (Dark Horse, LL, Ghost, Spritual) but it was soo weak compared to Teenage Dream.
Taylor stated many times that at the end of everything, the songs will be confessional diary entries with a different sonic background.

It is perfectly normal for an artist to lie to promote the album. I mean you know Tay isn't gonna say the songs are bad. Every popular artist does it sis. Whether she meant it or not is impossible to know.

Like CFC said, what's the connection of being the most hated person with working w/ MM or changing yourself/image completely? She already has people who support Her wholeheartedly. What's the matter? Grow a ****ing pair of balls.
And just for your information, my home country is a third world country. I don't care if She's irrelevant here.
And remember this. Print it if necessary:
1/3 will love you no matter what
1/3 will hate you no matter what
1/3 just DGAF.
In 2013, She deserved to be blamed for the stunt. It's partially deserving. But you overrated the hate She received. It's just that 1/3, except that they just went louder. Because She sort of proved their claims before.

Except that it's from a legitimate source. I know when it's legit or not. And can't you spot the difference when I'm jokinr and not? When you learnt that She worked with Max Martin earlier, and it was proven to be true?

Yeah, sure. But we also know that she's not a good enough actress to say that lie over and over and not look like she's lying, and then go on a world tour and perform the MM songs 78 times every night and look like she's actually enjoying it (regardless of whether she looks awkward or not, what can't be denied is that she doesn't look like she doesn't want to perform the songs, or that she's not enjoying it).

Also, it has been said that Scott said the songs on RED weren't good enough and needed an MM lift.. That right there is her saying "I was forced to work with him."

What exactly is the source that Taylor doesn't/didn't want to work with MM and how do you know if it's legit? I'm not here for another "TAYLOR IS GOING HIP-HOP!!!!!!!!!111!!!" mess that turns out to be false in the end. And wait a moment, the bolded part is news to me. Were there any rumors before Red's announcement that she'd worked with MM?

She's performing. You honestly think she loves singing "Ours" about John after what he did to her?
